Charity Card - New Baby

Oh how cute can you make New Baby cards? As cute as you like! Lots of pastel colours, I usually make some blue, some pink and some just pastel for the 'not sure yet ones'!!!

These little prams (donated stash from Di) are just sooooooooooooo cute aren't they. Everything on these cards is freebies so it's all profit to the charity, and my pocket isn't so worn out.

SHOPPING LIST

Here's what you need to make these cards:

• Pink/blue or pastel cardstock for the base
• Tartan backing paper (freebie from the internet)
• Peel off corners added
• Nesties (from donated stash - which is slowly dwindling down......boo hoo....)
• Teddies (digi images are a freebie) coloured with Twinkling H20's as susual, the others are Forever Friends stickers
• Faux stitching in glitter pens (appropriate colours)
• Ribbon folded and added to the Nesties to look like a rosette!
• Sentiment peel offs are matted and layered on the appropriate colour cardstock
• Hearts and blanket patches are stickers already in my stash

You can really have fun with these cards, I use all sorts of embellies in my stash, just draw the line somewhere, or else they just look cluttered, simple is best.

KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid - is something I always try and remember, don't stick them down until you've looked at them from all angles!

Charity Card - More Kitties

As you can tell, I love kitties, and this card is just scrumptious!!! Imagine squeezing a kitty so tight with a big grin on your face. Mind you, the look on the kitties face shows he's not enjoying it quite so much LOL!

Here's what you need to make this card:

• Purple cardstock for base card
• Stamped image of kitty (freebie - I will try to remember where from in future - apols!)
• Gold and pink (crimped) backing card
• Image coloured with Twinkling H20's again......just love those H20's!
• Faux stitching in purple glitter pen (Sainsburys)
• Computer generated sentiment matted onto yellow cuttlebugged card (scrolls)
• Purple flower (donated stash!)
• Blue gem (also from donated stash - thanks Ange!)

Stress Relief Toolkit

A friend of mine is having a tough time, his whole life is currently undergoing major changes, so I thought he might need some help with his stress levels.

This is the inside of the toolkit and as you can see it contains many sheets of Bubble Wrap with a little poem inside which rhymes about coping with stress and not to overuse it as counselling may be required. If you would like the little poem just let me know!

SHOPPING LIST

Here's what you need to make this card:

• Yellow cardstock - although it can any colour you have in your stash!
• "Mans" backing paper from Cardmaking magazine, it's also available on the internet so you have it forever if needed
• Scoring Tool to make four separate lines - slightly bigger than the bubble wrap you're going to use
• Fold the cardstock into a 'wallet' style shape
• Print the poem and stick to the inside top of the wallet
• Use two brads to hold down the bubble wrap to the wallet
• I also used DST on the top and bottom back of the bubble wrap for security
• Add a simple mirri square, with rounded corners (Dovecraft punch again!) to the outside of the wallet
• I put white cardstock square and matted and layered it on the silver mirri card and then wrote "Enjoy" using an orange Glitter Pen (Sainsburys) to match the cardstock

Now you can pop until your hearts content - go on, you know you want to!

Time for a Close Up Mr De Mille

I made this card as a joke for a friend of mine - don't panic about the odd white bits on the top of the clapperboard - it's just me blanking out her name for the whole world to see in cyberspace.

Anyway, she treated me to the movies and dinner when we were out, as she does very often, and despite me saying I'll pay she always beats me to it, or threatens the assistant if they take my card and not hers. So this time I thought I'd send her a card saying this is a "FREE PASS" the next time we go to the movies.

It's purely a joke card, but came out quite well I think...and YES....I WILL be paying next time after sending this to make sure the message is well received and understood....LOL!

SHOPPING LIST

Here's what you need to make this card:

• Plain black glossy pre-scored card in a pack from The Works - good if you can find one, lots are closing down - we have none near us now
• Clapperboard and film strip downloaded from the internet - boy what did we do before the internet?!
• White gel pen to write on the clapperboard
• Silver mirri card, matted and layed with white card, then use a fineline black pen (I use old OHP pens I had in my drawer) to handwrite the "FREE TICKET" sentiment
• Add gold stars (from the Make Your Own Christmas Cards pack from Tesco!)

Of course, you could just make this card for someone who is a movie/celeb fanatic and add in some photos of their fave celebs. I just left it blank for this card.

Welcome to your New Home

I don't make New Home cards that often, I've got a few peel offs for them so maybe I'll make some for the charity cards. It'll make a change from Birthday and Best Wishes!

Here's what you need to make this card:

• Print off the flower background paper from the Popcorn The Bear CDROM from http://www.crafterscompanion.co.uk/
• Print off the Bear with the Curtains (I thought this would suit a new home!) and pyramage him
• Add some green stripy background paper to show off the sentiment (Good Luck in your New Home ) - you can just about see it in the photo - sorry!
• Add faux stitching around the green stripy paper using a Glitter Pen (Sainsburys)
• Add an overloaded car peel off at the bottom right hand side of the card
• Finito!

A lovely card to welcome someone to a new home - hope they like it!
