WOYWW 217 - it's still Christmas here!

Welcome to WOYWW everyone! They sure come around quick! Can you believe we're nearly into August!  Yikes!!

Anyway, so what am I up to on my little work trays on my bed.  Well not too much to be honest with you!  As it's so hot still and my body doesn't cope with the heat too well, I've been trying a few little ideas out for Christmas cards.

This time, is it best to keep the Poinsettia flowers plain or add the glitter on the edges? What do you think everyone???

I won some gorgeous Blog Candy as you know (with all the glitter strips in it amongst many other things!). Also in there were some gorgeous mirri type cards and envelopes in Christmas colours - they are fabby!!  I've used one of them here with the Poinsettia backing paper on it.

The pearls, now I don't have a glue gun, only a Quickie Glue Pen, a cheapie imitation Pritt stick someone gave me and some Anita's glue which is quite old now but still works!  Can anyone tell me how I can get them to stay on a card without spending lots of money on doing it???

That's it for now and I hope you all have a great WOYWW!
Enjoy!

Those poinsettias look lovely. Can't decide whether to glitter or not to glitter, but I am hopelessly indecisive! They do look beautiful just as they are so maybe...but then glitter is Christmasy - oh it's a tough one! Have a great WOYWW. Julie Ann #12

Hi Karen, I'm going for the glittered edges on those lovely poinsettias. You can't beat a bit of bling at Christmas, it reflects the candles and Christmas tree lights so beautifully. have a good week and thank you for your visit. MMx #42

Oh, that's going to look gorgeous :-D
I haven't tried Anita's on pearls, but have you got any glossy accents ??? That works :-D

I personally like the glitter ones - maybe something in the middle as well? A brad to hold the lot together, or some self adhesive shiny thing??
I loved the poinsettia paper - and the card behind it is lovely. Well done.
Thanks for visiting already - hope you get to do some pergamano again before too long.
Take care, and trusting you find some cool soon!!!

You're asking me, the Queen of Bling, whethere to glitter or not?.. I think you know what my answer would be, lol!
Hey Karen, did you like that Alaskan dog fabric on my blog? I thought I'd do some stuff for your animal charities. Dog bandannas or neckerchiefs are really in at the moment...do you think they would be appropriate for your work? They'd be ever so easy to knock up.....let me know what you think.

I reckon glitter edges. A good, strong, clear glue is PINFLAIR GLUE GEL, and you dispense it from a syringe, so its easy for small/narrow items. Glossy accents as someone has suggested( there is an Anitas version, called 3-D clear Gloss Finish) will work well too.Have a great week, Hugs, Shaz xx #22

Happy WOYWW!

I like the glittered poinsettas best, you are doing well, I am sort of starting Christmas too, I coloured some images when I had to rest and keep my leg raised, now I need to get them onto cards.

I like the glittered poinsettias too. The card behind is gorgeous. Can't help with the glue, I tend to glue myself too much so steer clear of glues when I can.
Hope you manage to get something that works.
Have a great week.

I think its fabulous that you are starting on Christmas. I so need to be or I've never get them done. Poinsettias are one of my favorite items for Christmas, and your glittered one is just beautiful. Sorry for the late arrival to comment, but better late then never as they say! Happy WOYWW! Danie #25

The fastesdt drying glue in the shop for me is by Dovecraft and it's 99p. It's designed for quilling, so it goes off really quick and will stick the pearls a treat. Am going over to see Shopkeeper Gal in the next couple days, will get some for you...it's been a revelation to me!!
As it's now Friday, am hoping that the temperatures aren't too uncomfortable for you - and hey, glitter. Christmas only looks too glittery out of season. Once you get to December, you'll regret not using it!!

Christmas has to be glittery. I know Julia said that the faster drying glue is by Dovecraft, but in this heat, my silicone glue is set in less that 5 minutes. Not sure what I am doing for Christmas, nothing very elaborate this year, mainly computer generated, I think. My dogs have mainly come inside to lie on the kitchen tiles where it is cool, but they do like to be with me. I know it is supposed to be cooler now, but it is still very stuffy. Hope you are coping with it. xx Maggie #48
