Spread a little happiness....

Found this on Pixie's Blog and thought I'd play along.....

To make the world a happier place, just give a little kindness and you never know what you might get in return. Smile and the world smiles with you so the saying goes so what have you got to lose?!?!?!

Would you like to take part? All I need is three people (or perhaps more if I'm lucky!) to leave me a comment and I'll get back to you to get your address details and I'll send you a little parcel in the post to make your day go with a smile!

The first three people then send out a little goodness to three others and the happiness spreads around and it goes on from there.

So, who wants to join me in this little happiness spreading? You might think oh I only get one thing and have to send out three, but that's not the point. So come and join me and send something you've made to make someone else's day happier. Go on, give it a go.....will have to restrict to UK due to cost at the moment though, sorry.

UPDATE: Well no one wants to spread some happiness, that's a real shame. I thought it was a good idea, shows how wrong you can be.

The Love Blog Award -Wahooooo!!!!!

Imagine how proud and delighted I was to receive the above blog award from my brilliant, wonderful, kind, generous, creatively clever friend Diane over at Pixies Crafty Workshop at http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com/

I've never won a Blog Award, so am very PROUD and HONOURED to receive this one, my first ever.

There is a couple of conditions to the award.

You have been TAGGED and want to participate?

Then create a post where you add the LOVE BLOG AWARD.

You then choose 3-5 favourite blogs which you also link to in your blog and then each blogger will let you know they have been tagged.

Dear Bloggers

The aim of this action is that we bring unknown, good blogs to light, so I would ask you not to blog to fellow bloggers that already have 3,000 followers. As always the hardest part is to pick who to pass this on to, there are so many bloggers I could give it to but I pick these....

Of course I can't return it to Diane, which is a big shame as I'd love to.

So first of all, in no particular order, I'd like to tag Dustin Pike http://dustinpike.blogspot.com/ - he is one EXTREMELY TALENTED MAN. He gives out freebies of his fantastic art for us crafters to colour in for our cards and was told that he wasn't good enough for Advanced Art in Jr High - can you believe it!!!! Anyway check out his blog and have fun with the characters - the monkeys and dragons are to die for....!

Secondly Steph over at Honey Boutique. I've been following her blog for quite a while now and she is very clever with her colouring, which I aspire to with my new Promarkers I got for Christmas. Check Steph out at http://honeybootique.blogspot.com/ for some inspiring inspiration.

Thirdly, is Siggi Shop http://siggi-shop.blogspot.com/. Jo designed my background for me and it's absolutely perfect. I gave her an idea of what I liked and it's as if she read my mind. She also makes brilliant cards as well as backgrounds for blogs so go and check her blog out for some ideas.

I'll stick at three for now, although I could go on for ever with different blogs I like. However the best one for me is Pixies Crafty Workshop http://pixiescraftyworkshop.blogspot.com/ by my good friend Di. Check out her blog, despite the fact I couldn't send her the award as she already has one!

Thanks for the Love Blog Di!

Special Card for...guess who.....

This card is for my friend's little boy - called George - you'd never have guessed would you!

Apologies about the photo, it was taken with my camera this time, but I wasn't too steady when holding it. I've got a better way of doing the next lot, but need to find the right card for the background first....bear with me.

Anyway hope you like this card, it was made using decoupage image of the digger (I also had a tractor and Landrover on the same sheet so they will be handy!).

I made the number plate with his name on. Four year olds love their name on things and so George will love this I hope!

Charity Card

Here are some more of the 'sample' cards. This one was easy I just took the original front of the card and added it to a nice red CS to show it off. I had to stick her legs down as they kept jumping up!

Another simple one, this time I just added an insert. Ideal for charity cards - perfect but not too overfussy!

I added this one to a lovely pale blue CS and just added Card Candy to the edges. Along with an insert of course. I like to add inserts as it makes them more special I think don't you.

This was a real 'showy' card. I love the idea of ribbons on the side. I don't have many ribbons but this could be the perfect excuse to get some if I find them in the sale - they sure make the card look 'flashy' and different. Amazing how a small piece of ribbon can do that isn't it.

Enjoy!

Special Cards

Sorry I can't remember if I've posted these before, sorry if I have! They are 3d type cards in that they are shaped and sit outside of the background. Hard to describe but I hope you know what I mean!

The first is for a New Home for a little boy aged three. He loves getting cards addressed to him through the post!
The "New Home" card is for his parents and is in the same style but a totally different image of course, with a little "Sold" sign and a car laden with boxes! CB'd bits and bobs add to the effects of the house. Lots of fun making these cards, have got more to make too....watch out in the future - there's other shapes that will be popping up too!

Charity Card - Feeling Paw-ly

Well this is a plain and simple card. Just right for someone not feeling 100%. Perhaps I should send it to myself with all my problems sometimes! LOL!

SHOPPING LIST

Here's what you need to make this card:

  • Blue cardstock for the background

  • Yellow gingham backing paper

  • Kitty image (freebie) coloured with H20's

  • Blue gems (given to me by CraftyAnge - thanks!)

  • Plasters - real ones - I'm allergic to them so handy for cardmaking!

  • Handwritten sentiment (play on words as you can tell) matted and layered with the same blue cardstock for continuity

Simples!

Thank You Cards

I saw these digi's and just HAD to have them. They are just SO cute! I tried to get them as a rubber stamp, but everywhere I tried they had sold out. So I emailed the designer (Mo Manning of course!) and she replied telling me about the digi images - so I got those instead.
They are just perfect for any cat lovers out there, you can just imagine how indignant the cat feels but he still has a smile on his face despite the loving hug from the child! There are little girls (tomboys!) and boys.
I made these using a new punch I got for Christmas, from EK Success I think it is. Despite their size they are very good and easy to punch, although I did struggle with certain card weights so now know which ones it's best on!
The purple CS was just run through the old CB and used as a backing paper. Some peel offs, and some prima flowers just finished it off.
Thanks for looking!

Thank You Cards

At the same time as seeing the lovely kitty with the boy/girl (in case you want them they are called Patience and Tolerance) I also got these lovely images of a little boy lying on his dog, there is also a girl which I purchased too, but haven't uploaded them yet - they will follow!
As you can see, I've been using the punch a fair bit - I had to pack all my craft stash away ready for Christmas, so only have the basics out currently.
Amazing what you can do with a few items huh!
