WOYWW 214

Hello everyone and welcome to another WOYWW! A bit different this time as I have sun here with me,  which is a bit cooler today (which I love! - I'm definitely a Winter Girl not a Summer one that's for sure!). Someone told me if you're born in the Winter you love Winter weather and vice versa for Summer babies. Not sure if it's true, but it is for me! Is it for you?

So as it's way toooooo hot for me, what am I working on? Christmas!  LOL!!! I thought it might make me feel cooler!  Seriously now, I saw some lovely looking snowy acetate and decided it was way too expensive for me, so my little grey cell, it is working, yes.  Yes!  I got out my acetate and looked at what was on my craftbed. The little grey cell, it woke up and voila.  It doesn't look much in the photo, but I used my Cosmic Shimmer white bottle and dotted it over the acetate and it looks a lot better IRL!!!!  You will see it being used soon!

So here it is - As you can tell I'm making a snowglobe.  I have an idea in my head but I don't quite have all the equipment to do what I need, so I'm going to improvise with it and see how it turns out!!

Finally, I have my little card to show you where I used all those glitter strips up and made my background.  I decided to keep the image plain as well as the card too.  I think with that much glitter you don't need much else!!!

So have a great WOYWW whatever you are doing and enjoy!

Ooh, I'm loving your snow-globe idea! Well done for being resourceful and improvising when you didn't have the expensive stuff! I was born in September and I like the weather to be warm, but not boiling and I really feel the cold, so there we are - a true Autumn person! Thanks for stopping by. I wish you could actually smell the rose because it's just delicious! Julie Ann #55

I have snow globes in mind too, ready for my grandchildren at Christmas. I managed to find a supplier of the glass/heavyweight plastic ones on line and just need to do the bits that you insert up the middle. I also thought of making personalised clocks for them as well. That is as far as Christmas has gone here. I love the way you have used things you already have to create something beautiful. I was born in June, so I quite like the in between sort of weather we often get at that time of year. Thank you for your visit today, and I hope you have a great productive week. xx Maggie #10

I was born in April, so yes I do prefer the spring weather, quite happy with Autumn too, and Winter will do at a push - NOT a fan of summer heat at all, I'm with you in the snow.
Love the card

I'm an August child and I don't like this heat! Think I must have been a Viking in a previous life :-)
Love your snow globe idea! That's going to look fab!

Hi Karen - I'm an October baby and I'm all for the in betweeny weather - neither too hot nor too cold (channeling Goldilocks?) - at least in the winter you can pile on another layer, in the summer once you've stripped down to your knickers you've got nowhere else to go! Your glitter strips card turned out great and I'm looking forward to phase 2 on the snowglobe project. Thanks for your visit, have a cooler week! MMx #59

I agree with you on the birthday weather thing. I love Autumn the best and I'm an October baby, I love your DIY snow acetate. Last year I made something similar, instead I used white flocking on the acetate. It turned out fluffy/fuzzy. Have a fab day! Hugs, Dorothy H #109

I don't know about the weather thing, but I was born in june and I really love warm and sunny weather. It can't get too hot for me easily...that said, I'm from the Netherlands, where is doesn't get too hot anyhow...
Happy WOYWW and I wish you a wonderful week.

Hi Karen,
Thank you for your sweet comments about my card. The font I used is called Nokie Brush...it's a font within some Hallmark software, but it may be available elsewhere if you Google it.
Love your idea of creating a snow globe! It will make a fabulous Christmas card. Your glitter strip background is just perfect for your lovely image.
Thanks again! Sasha x

What a cute glittered card. The snow globe is intriguing me too.
Born in May and love the spring weather, but prefer cold to our HOT!

Happy WOYWW!
I am a summer baby but I can't cope with this heat, don't like extremes of cold either, I prefer spring or autumn really!
Christmas, yes I must get on with Christmas! Pretty card.

Great snow globe, even better that you came up with your won idea for it. Pretty card too. Yes, the bows and arrows were tremendous fun, would love to do it again.
