A Wedding Snippet Card

Well I finally found the bronze coloured card I've been searching for and here is the end result of the cardmaking sessions (I had to do it in a few sessions rather than one long one - my leg it doth protest too much!).
I'm putting this one in to the Snippet Challenge  I've not done any for a while, but am hoping to catch up with this one!  I used lots of white card offcuts and even made the horse shoe myself with a little amendment to the diecut pieces!
After making the card front and the base, I thought I'd best confirm the name of the groom, I know the bride well but not the groom.  So after speaking to a mutual friend, I was stunned to hear that the wedding is off.  Arggghhh!!!!  Anyone need a bronze wedding card?!?!?!

Thought I'd enter this into a couple of challenges as follows:

4 Crafty Chicls - Wedding
DL Art - Wedding

Enjoy!

A lttle Sherbet Pip...!!

First I'd like to thank you all for the lovely comments, the good karma wishes from around the world are working.  One of my hospitals rang up and said not to come today, but come on Monday instead, so a couple of days free....yahooooo!!!!!
Do you remember Shertbert Pips - mmmmm - lovely!!!   I got some of these delightful Pips for Christmas, and I think this one is called "Honey Pip".  This is also one of my first efforts at doing clouds - I'm getting there.  What do you think?

I'm going to add this to the "Snippets Challenge" and keep my fingers crossed that it works this time.
Thanks again for the lovely comments from all of you who care, it's like a big blanket of hugs around my poorly body!

Remember this card from a while back - does anyone know where the butterflies are from?  Are they a punch? or a die cut?  If anyone could tell me, I'd appreciate it.  I'm doing another special wedding card and need some more butterflies quick!!!

Enjoy!

A Birthday Card for Gill.....

Luckily I've already for a few cards I've made which I can post to help the DVT leg again.

I made this one for my wonderful friend Gill.  It's a real "Snippets" card and I've used lots of bits and pieces from my stash on here.  I was given the little bee many moons ago, and the wooden embellishment came from The Craft Fairy.

As the birthday has been and gone, I can now post the card on my blog.

Enjoy!

Gorgeous kitties....!!

Yes, I've got another kitty stamp here.  I've been waiting to get this one for ages and finally got it when I went to a craft sale a while back. It's a Penny Black cling called "Dear Friend" and it's so cute isn't it.
It was the one and only card I made in this session as I just didn't feel 100% at all.  I used some of my pre-made white flowers which I've added "Lace Stickles" to so that it has some bling about it.  Also added a wooden butterfly embellishment which was from the "Craft Fairy" along with lots of other things to help my charity cardmaking received a while back.

Sorry I don't know the name of the backing paper, it was a "Candy Win" many moons ago.  It was the only one I had left like that too which is a real shame as it's so useful for many different cards.
I'm adding this one in to the "Snippet Challenge" and hope I manage to get it all right this time.  Fingers crossed huh!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 156

It's that time again - WOYWW over at Julia's place.  Although strangely she doesn't have a photo of her workdesk today - she's sitting in the sun somewhere nice and warm with a glass of something in one hand and her ipad in the other!
So here is my workdesk today, well, my work tray really.  I had some offcuts of card that I just couldn't bring myself to throw away so I die cut them and put them around a pre-cut Nestie I was given.  It  is a way of using up the card without having to use whole pieces of die cuts.
You know me and making things go as far as possible for my charity cards!  You never know when you might just need that piece of white card which is only 2 inches square! LOL!!
Now, tell me, have you ever seen any wool balls like this?!?!?  I hadn't before my Aunt came back from the USA and gave them to me to use for the crocheted kitty blankets!  I put in a 10p coin in the photo so you can see the size of them.  They're huge and very neatly wound I have to say.
Anyway the kitties don't mind where it comes from or what colour it is, as long as it's nice and warm and comfortable when they lie on it!!!  I do love making the crocheted blankets, it's easy to do whilst zoning out in front of the TV!

Enjoy WOYWW everyone!

Here's the Wedding Card - all from Snippets!

Here's the rest of the card from myWOYWW the other week.  It is made from 100% snippets, no new card stock was hurt during the making of this card LOL!!!

It's an adorable stamp from LOTV as you all probably know.  I've added some basic promarker colouring and some bling of course.  I used my floral die cut and my flower ones and cut them out of cheap card form the Pound Store.  A little nestie was cut using a snippet in my snippet envelope and add some peel off's and it's all done.  Voila!

I love the "Congratulations" backing paper, sadly the store is no more, so this is the end pieces of it being used up. Oh I also used a snippet of cheap cardstock from the Pound Store and embossed it.  You have to be careful with the cheaper paper as it tends to rip sometimes in the Cuttlebug.

Snippet Challenge and a question for you all....

OK, here's another animal charity card - big batch already delivered ready for the Summer Fayre - and I have a question for you all.

This is a portrait card with the peel off words down the side of the nestie.  Do you think it looks right or wrong?  I've asked three people so far and one said it is right and two say it isn't.  Which side of the fence do you fall?  All comments welcome!

Oh, and I've added this card into the "Snippets Challenge".  It's good to use up all of our snippets, and as most of my cards go to charity, it helps me eek out my pennies!!!

Enjoy!

Pampered Pets - of course!

I got this set free from Creativity magazine many moons ago and thought it would be good for the animal shelter I'm making cards for.  I used some more snippets here along with some pink sticky stuff behind the image.  I got it on ebay along with a couple of other colours and have never seen it anywhere since.

I used one of my die cuts in my 'already done' box so it was quite easy to put this one together.  I need to get some more card - if anyone would like to share their 'best place to buy it' with me it would be appreciated!

I put inserts in all of my cards usually, and there is a small but growing pile waiting to have them inserted before bagging and ready to go to the animal shelter.

Oh, almost forgot - I've added this one in to Di's Snippet Playground - I missed it last week, but am back in the playground this week!

Enjoy!

Cute Little Meeces!

A really cute stamped image here.  I think it's a Penny Black.  I used more of the snippets papers in my snippet envelope and added some of the black peel offs and a lovely sentiment ticket freebie I found many moons ago now.

I wasn't sure about the orange card to start with but I think it makes it stand out which is good.  Hopefully they will all be sold and raise lots of pennies!

Enjoy!

This is SO true!

I can just imagine this little cutie being spoiled rotten can't you??!?!  I thought I'd make some dog ones as well.  I'm going to take a mixed box of cards for them which hopefully will sell well and make much needed funds for them.

Again more snippets, but I'm making them go a long way as you can see!

Enjoy!

For the Kitty Charity Fayre

You'll be seeing quite a few of these for a while.  All made from snippets.

I've kept them fairly simple and flat so they can be posted without any additional cost.  Postage is SO expensive now we as crafters have to think of these when making cards.

Hope you like them.

Enjoy!

WOYWW again....

Hop on over to Julia's to find out more about WOYWW.  You don't have to have a workdesk to join in, as many of you know, I craft on my bed so here's my workdesk!

Here's my latest creations being made for my animal charity fundraising.  I make most of my cards to help cancer and animal charities.  Of course I also make cards for family and friends too.  It helps to take my mind off my health problems and I just love it!  Always have done and always will I suppose.  A crafter is a crafter forever!

I just love this image of a wedding couple, I like to keep it simple, just alittle colour and some glitter to bling it up (you know me and bling!).  Some other little sentiments hanging around and some gorgeous ribbon I won in a candy a while ago and haven't used yet.  Naughty!

Have fun everyone and looking forward to a sneaky peak around the world!

Enjoy!

A Little Moo......!

I've had this little fella in my 'stamped images box' for quite a while and have just found the perfet backing paper for him.  As it's all made of snippets I'm putting him in to Di's Crafty Snippet Challenge.

A simple image but goes well with the sentiment I think don't you?!  Do you think it needs some more embellishment on the nestie?  I'm not sure either way yet!

Enjoy!

Kitty's again...!

Well I've 'tried' to use other stamps rather than kitties, but I couldn't resist this little collection!  They look like they're off for a good night out don't they!  Our little 19 year old sweetie would probably just enjoy the peace and quiet instead of going clubbing now!  In case you're wondering she's a cat not a human LOL!!

It's another Snippet card really I suppose, well most of my cards are Snippet Cards as waste not want not, I use all snippets on my charity cardmaking.

You'll be seeing more cat cards soon, I'm making them to help a local cat shelter who is having a Spring Fayre soon.  I took them some handmade crocheted blankets which they loved and boy, did I have to resist stuffing a few of the kitties up my coat before I left!!!!

I said I normally make them for cancer charities, but would help them out with raising funds.  It all helps as they say!!!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 146

Another Wednesday and another WOYWW over at Julia's for you all to peak at.  If you're not sure what it is go and check it out - you can have a sneaky peak at workdesks all over the world.  Sounds a bit odd when you first see it, but believe me, it's fun and addictive!
So here's what's on my workdesk (or rather my bed!!!).  I'm working on some special Easter goodies (they need to be posted so I'm trying to get them done early!) - I've not forgotten last weeks WOYWW and will be catching up with that soon promise.  I've got so many ideas in my head for cards I need to make, but just not made them yet!

I wonder if the Easter goodies will count as Snippets, no new papers were used and I also used up some very old peel-off's lurking in the back of one of the boxes!

Enjoy WOYWW!

For a Little Girl...

Another Snippets card, not in the official playground, but just one of many I make for cancer charities and donate to them.  It all helps as they say!
Again this is just snippets of card, a stamped image coloured with my gorgeous Promarkers and some glittered dots added as embellishments.
I try to keep them flatter now, due to the hgh postage charges.  Obviously hand delivered ones are made with more heightened (is there such a word?) embellishments.

Enjoy!

Snippets Challenge

Here's my entry to the Snippets Challenge 11 for fun in the playground.  As Di said, I can't use the Pogo Sticks sadly, but I can have a go on the swings.  What lovely memories of playing on the swings and even more fun on the roundabouts too!  No health and safety in those days (gosh does that make me sound old!!!) but it was loadssssssssssssssss more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used all snippets on this card, no whole sheets were harmed whatsoever in the making of this card.  Here you can see my 'Snippet Envelope' as I call it.  It's an A4 size pack which some card came in and I now use it for my snippets to reside in.  As you can see I've had a go at some MS punching (my one and only PATP set!).

The card is cheapo card from the £ shop, it is perfect for using as matting and layering and also MS punching of course!  I also use the plain white card from the £ shop as well, ideal for die cutting, too light for the actual cards, but brilliant for the embellishments.  Also thanks again, to Di, for the gorgeous ribbon!  Such a fantastic rich colour and perfectly suits the CS and the colouring.

Talking of which I used the white card to make the flowers, offcuts from the snippets envelope of course, and added some stickles glitter, and some plain brads I've had for eons!  I got two packs of them in a sale, and am now on the second pack!  Plain but they do the job!  I've also used nail varnish on them to change the colour and it works fine!  If there's a way round it, I'll find it!  My pocket is not never ending sadly and I really need to win the lottery!!!

I'm really proud of this card and I'm not ashamed to say it!  Hope you like it too....

Enjoy!

My First Official "Snippets Card"....

Here's my first "Official Snippets Challenge Card".  I hope I've done everything that is required for it at Snippets Challenge at Di's place.

I used some snippets to make a 'quilt type' card with hand stitching.  I also used some snippets of mirror card when using the die cuts.  The gorgeous Thomas was a birthday present from Di so it seemed right to make him my first "Official Snippets Challenge Card"!!!

The only addition is some flat glittery dots - ideal for posting - doesn't make it mega expensive to send to the recipient!

Enjoy!

Wednesday, 29 February 2012

I've had this image for a while, all coloured up and decided to use it on this with lots of other snippets along the way.  I really must find out more about the "Snippets Challenge" as I use loads of snippets all the time on my cancer charity cardmaking.

I used my MS PATP punch for the edging of the subtle pink paper, added a white love die cut on the top along with some white corner die cuts (again from Di!) and some gorgeous pawprint ribbon which I got for 49p!  Within the pack were six pieces of self adhesive ribbon (about 12" long) so they will go quite a way on the cards.

I added a gold mirror backing to the paper, as well as the sentiment.- I hope you think it works OK!

Enjoy!
