Rudolph Day - it'll soon be here...aargghh!!!

Here's the little Dog I was using before.  His name is Barkley and he's so cute - thanks Gill...!!!  I had some die cuts from another card I'd made and used them on this card.  Just adding the little small silver stars from some old peel offs I've still got - they still come in useful I find.

Here's another card with the little dog and a cute kitty on as well.  Anything cute is good in my book!  Hope you like them - and don't forget - it's getting nearer all the time!!!

Enjoy!

Golden Wedding Card

If you saw my previous posting, you'll know all about this card!!  I had lots of golden items on my worktray and it was a while before the idea came into my head of what I was going to do with it all to finish my card.

It's a combination of matt and shiny gold, and as you can see, I had enough of the matt card to make three more flowers (just) after my disaster with the trimmer. Phew!!!

I coloured the edge of the hearts with a Promarker, can you believe the "Gold" one was nothing like Gold so I used "Sunflower" instead!!!

Enjoy!

Thank You!

After winning all those lovely paper pads after being the "Star Letter" in the Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine, I just had to say "Thank You" with one of my cards didn't I.  Being brung up wiv manners this is typical of me!

I found this gorgeous piece of backing paper in a parcel sent from the lovely Gill.  I'll have to find out where she got it as it's just perfect for so many cards!!!  I got the felt flowers as a bargain from a cheapie shop.  They are very well made and I couldn't believe it when I saw them so got a few colours all at the same time!

I backed the butterflies with vellum and coloured it with my Promarkers to match the paper.  I can post this as I've already sent it off to the Editor.

I hope you like it too.

Enjoy!

Rudolph Day...a bit late....but got there in the end!

Here's my latest "Rudolph Cards" ready for Christmas.  I had the intentions of making Birthday and Thank You cards, and ended up making these Christmas ones too!

The above one is a plain and simple one using the Poinsettias I made earlier and using the brilliant glue that Julia sent me to try.  It's really wonderful and sticks anything to anything included me to my Poinsettias when I was holding one down onto the card! The ribbon is, as they say, donkeys years old but it suits this card and it's a shame it's the only piece I have in that colour!

As you can tell I'm trying to make different styles of card at the moment.  I've had these beautiful peel offs for ages and not used them.  Then all of a sudden in my offcuts I found a piece of vellum over from making the flowers for the wedding card and voila - I tore the edges and just stuck them to the vellum and I quite liked the finish!!

I've made a few different styles of cards with this idea so you may see some more later.

Enjoy!

Mr and Mrs.....love one another......

As promised, here are the two Wedding cards I made for a lady who commissioned them.  I wasn't sure what style to go with, so I made two different ones. best!

The first one here, is the one with all the very tiny vellum flowers on.  They did look better on the card than on my work tray that's for sure!

As the only information I had was there was terracotta on it and two birds I decided on making one with birds on it.  I checked with my judges what they thought of the colour and they said it was OK, it looks more orange in this posting than it is IRL. I love this one too.

As you can tell I couldn't make up my mind, so I left it to the lady to decide!  I hope that she likes them - she's not come back saying could I make something else so I'm assuming they are OK!

Which one do you like?

Thank You Auntie!

I made this special card for my Auntie, we went to have a scrumptious Sunday Lunch with her, and I made dessert - a Banoffee Pie!  I know, very naughty, but you have to have something special every now and then!

I constructed the flowers out of card and added some Cosmic Shimmer Pearls to the stamens to make them stand out.  My only problem is getting them to dry without kitty deciding to sit on them on the worktray on the bed! I achieved it this time! Yay!

A while back I ordered some new stamps and in with the stamps, they enclosed some die cuts - I've just been putting some of them to good use for my Charity Card Box.  I've had this backing paper for many years, even before I started cardmaking!  It's just perfect for this hot air balloon which I backed with some holographic card I have in my stash.

This cute little bear came from I don't remember where now.  He's in my little box of stamped images I've been sent at different times.  I use them to make Charity Cards as you know and he's so cute.  I'm not sure of the make as it was sent to me. If anyone knows, please tell me and I'm going to add him to my Wish List - which is growing ever longer by the day LOL!!

Enjoy!

Special Card for a Special Friend and other news....

Welcome to my new followers - it's great to have you sharing my blog with me.

Happy Birthday Gill....!!!  I can now post the card on my blog. Sorry about the background but it was I had to hand at the time.  I decided to do something 'outside of my comfort zone' instead of the 'cute and cuddly' which I normally do.  I used some of the lovely Pearl Drops which you sent me to try - they work well on flowers as long as I leave them to dry somewhere outside of jumping range from our little blind old lady Domi. Sweet pea that she is!

Here's the card you saw with my last WOYWW posting.  Sorry I missed it last week, but I had a bad week, a good friend of mine died after a seven year fight with cancer.  It makes you realise how short life can really be.  I'm so lucky my own cancer is stable and I really hope it stays that way as long as possible.

I've also had an outer ear infection, the antibiotics are helping, but boy do they give you indigestion pain!!!  My tennis elbow has it's good and bad days.  The main thing is I'm still here and able to help others with this dreadful disease with my cardmaking making funds for the charities.

Keep smiling and keep fighting - never give up!

This is a really cute card (my fave type as you probably know!). I had some core-dinations from the bargain sale (big pack for £1).  I used my nail file to distress it (who needs expensive distress tools huh!). As I've been dubbed "Queen of Recycling"!!!  The card candy came from the lovely Gill - thanks Gill - I've made them go a long way!

Another decoupage card here. I used one of my Christmas die-cuts and used it as a backing mat for the little rabbit.  I used one of my favourite butterflies on this card. I've only got about four of them left now.

Enjoy!

Recycled packaging is now made into cards!

Well here's the two finished cards I made using the 'mostly recycled bits' from the packing from the Pound Shop!  Not bad huh, I made six cards from the pack and then here are another two from the packaging and there are more to come too!  I used the freebie butterfly die cut from a cardmaking magazine and just added the rest along the way from my stash box!
Whilst rootling (is that a word?!?!?) in my stash box I found this little image and thought he deserved to be made into a card.  I made a notelet card out of this one.  The pink cardstock is from a £1 mixed bag from the bargain bin!

WOYWW 206

Warm welcome wishes to Ria and Darnell, thanks for joining my crafty escapades!!!

It's that time again - WOYWW - so go and check out Julia's blog and see why we are all loving snooping on other people's craft rooms/desks or in my case trays on my bed!

As you can see by the tray above, I've been working on a few things at once.  I might be making one card, but whilst doing it I also cut out more die cuts or colourise (otherwise known as colouring in!) images.  It makes it easier down the line to put together my charity cards.

On a previous WOYWW posting, I told you I'd used some packaging to make into cards.  Here's the embossed images of two parts I've used.  Although they use the same image, the different colouring and the distressing make them look totally different.

I'll be posting the finished card soon so you can see the difference in the final cards.  I like to use every part of my crafting stash as you can tell!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 204

May Day today and here we have another WOYWW posting. Click on the link to see what it's all about - you WILL become addicted, believe me!

Nothing too exciting on my worktrays this week, but below is something new I've been trying out on my Cuttlebug.

I saw some expensive items in a craft shop the other day and thought......I could do that....hence the broken down Weetabix box in my Cuttlebug.  Might as well give it a try.  I'll let you all see the results in the next WOYWW posting.

Have a great day!

Special Cards...

Here's the special cards I was working on in WOYWW the other week.  It's all animal related - my fave cards as you all know!  So I thoroughly enjoyed making them. I think I've used most things in my stash here....

Die cuts, peel offs, rubber stamps, card candi, glitter, stickers, sentiments, ribbon, punches, you name it and I think it's on there!

I just love these rubber stamp sets, they are so cute!  I added the special poem in using my PC.  It certainly was a labour of love that took me a while to make, but I loved it!

I also used this stamp, although it's a lot lot lot bigger than I thought it was!  I'll have to use it for my big cards mainly, although I've just had a lightbulb moment here!  I added the gold bottle charms on at the last minute.  It suited the card!  The cards have been given to the recipient now, so I can safely blog them!

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Brother!!!

Here's the completed card you saw the beginnings of on WOYWW this week.  I had some cute little beer cans and decided to make some "Beer Bunting" for the embossed part of the card.  It took a while to get all the little cans pointing the same way.

I already had a sentiment stamped so layered it onto some gold card and it then matched the gold die cut stars I used to edge the embossed part of the card.  I also added in a little peel off.  I searched all of them and couldn't find one with Brother on...so I used this one instead.  The Beer Monster is a cute digi I've had for a while and suits all mens cards!

The second card (which Domi showed you the beginnings of with the Cuttlebug by her paw!) is a hand designed camera made from card in my 'bits bag'. She used little bits of mirror card and also some jazzy peel off lines.  She added the cute little Chester, purely because she liked him!!  Why query a cats thoughts..... oh dear....I think I need to check my medication is right!! LOL!!!

A big thank you to Gill, who has sent me some lovely cards to add to the charity box, ready to be taken with some gorgeous items from Jan for their Spring Sale.  Thanks to you both!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 192

I totally forgot it was WOYWW today, chemobrain strikes again!  On my little worktrays on my bed today we have......my cuttlebug (you can tell it has been used a teeny tiny bit huh!) and some die cuts for a card I've been asked to make.  I got these lovely dies from my good friend Gill - thanks Gill - ideal for so many cards I have jiggling around in my head amongst the cobwebs and the tumbleweek!!!
This card is for a Baby Shower and it was to be A4 in size.  I don't make many A4 cards, and of course all the embellies are made for smaller cards, so my cobwebs and tumbleweed got a right shaking up I can tell you!

I drew up a few ideas and sent them to my friends daughter and she chose the colour scheme she liked and the rest is up to me.  Of course, I'll show you the finished product on my blog soon!

One last thing - does anyone have any House Mouse stamps that have toothbrushes or floss on them???  If you do could you please leave me a comment or email me?  Many many thanking yous!

Happy WOYWW everyone!

WOYWW 191

Another Wednesday and another WOYWW - click on the left hand side of the page to find out what WOYWW is all about - you'll soon be addicted believe me!  So what is on my little worktrays today then?  Well first, some more stamped images.  I've also noticed one of my Christmas Choccie Boxes in the photo - I was using it for the images to sit on whilst they dry! Oh and yes, the box is still unopened!  Can't get it on the cards can I now?!?!?!
This photo shows some freebie die cuts I got when I ordered some new stamps - it was so lovely to find them within the packaging!!  I've got ideas for most of them already!  I do like surprises arriving in the post!

Anyway am off out soon to get some essentials (non craft sadly!) but I'm going to have a treat and enjoy my one cup of coffee a day in the coffee shop!!!  Can't wait!!!

Enjoy WOYWW!

Get Well Soon!

First of all, I'm back...!!!  My PC died on me and I had to take it to the PC hospital to make it well again.  Poor little thing, I was lost without it I can tell you!
Talking of hospitals, a friend of mine has recently been in hospital having a hip operation.  She's now out and is doing her physio and exervises and is walking really well already.  I'm so pleased for her as she was really worried about it - she said she's not used to hospitals unlike me!
On the inside of the card I used some plasters and a little bear stamp, as she has recently retired as well.  These little bears are so cute don't you think!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 164

Another WOYWW comes swinging by...!!  Go and have a look at Julia's desk, it has sunshine on it - how amazing is that?!?!?!  If you check it out, watch out, you might become addicted!!!!

Here's a nice clean'ish tray on my work-bed for you all.  I've really got into this MS PATP and it sets a card off nicely.  It's a bit too girly for male cards, so I need to find a set which is more male orientated.  Any ideas?  I used another punched piece as the base for the wedding card (see previous post) where I was searching for bronze card for ages.  Yes, it's finally finished, go and check it out!
The little PB kitties are destined for a Wedding Anniversary card which will be posted for real and also in the virtual world which is this blog of mine!  I just love this stamp, it's one of my favourites.

I had some offcuts from the wedding card in my 'offcuts bag' so as I always try to use up all the little bits they were left to inspire me.

Keep cool and carry on!

Enjoy!

A Wedding Snippet Card

Well I finally found the bronze coloured card I've been searching for and here is the end result of the cardmaking sessions (I had to do it in a few sessions rather than one long one - my leg it doth protest too much!).
I'm putting this one in to the Snippet Challenge  I've not done any for a while, but am hoping to catch up with this one!  I used lots of white card offcuts and even made the horse shoe myself with a little amendment to the diecut pieces!
After making the card front and the base, I thought I'd best confirm the name of the groom, I know the bride well but not the groom.  So after speaking to a mutual friend, I was stunned to hear that the wedding is off.  Arggghhh!!!!  Anyone need a bronze wedding card?!?!?!

Thought I'd enter this into a couple of challenges as follows:

4 Crafty Chicls - Wedding
DL Art - Wedding

Come On the Bears....

I got this lovely little bear stamp in the sale I went to.  He's so cute and you can make him into any football team colours you like.  I tried to keep them simple, but I have another idea in my head which will be coming on the blog as soon as I've inked him up again!  The gold spots are the bits left on some peel offs I have in my stash.  I use every little bit for the charity cards, nothing is wasted here!
Again the little football stickers came from Woolworths - remember Woolworths?  I miss that shop so much you could get anything you needed in there.  The sentiment on the orange card came from the Forever Friends Topper Set I got for 50p...not a bad buy!  I've used nearly all of the bits with just a few little ones to go now. Waste not want not....!

Enjoy!

Blinged Up Cards!

As promised, here are two of the 'blinged up' cards I recently made.  I've had these die cuts for many moons now.  I got them before I had my own little pink Cuttlebug.  I added some little gems to them and put them onto a black and a white cardstock background.  The big silver diecuts were from Gill - thanks Gill!

Not sure which one looks the best, but they will both sell for the charities that I donate too.  The ribbon was a bargain - 20p for about 2 metres.  There were different colours so I picked out a couple.  Shame the shop has closed down now.  I miss that one - it always had loads of bargains, perhaps that's why it closed who knows.

More cards to follow, got a few done pre-DVT.  I'm hoping to be able to do some short crafting sessions soon so the blog will continue on!

Enjoy!
