Hello all. Thanks for being so patient as usual. I've been making some cards, but have got to upload them. I was going to try and upload them from my tablet, but it doesn't want to work with Blogger for some unknown reason. As soon as I find out why and can get it to work it will be a lot easier.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim3DvwhZxQfoGCnHgo3bvJ_gdf_eMQXhCp7_D4A6GdNElyKIFfmUC-vMNdfMDF9L1rjCTJmKSgfmx4SqXO4Y9Ihw8PGO8cPtZj6EC3VVTnkclYdhyphenhyphenfpqyYafUVq9JHR4UAird2GEvm_Ms/s1600/519-12.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEim3DvwhZxQfoGCnHgo3bvJ_gdf_eMQXhCp7_D4A6GdNElyKIFfmUC-vMNdfMDF9L1rjCTJmKSgfmx4SqXO4Y9Ihw8PGO8cPtZj6EC3VVTnkclYdhyphenhyphenfpqyYafUVq9JHR4UAird2GEvm_Ms/s320/519-12.jpg" width="311" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Any way, with thanks to Gill for the Art Deco parts of this card I made this as a commission from a friend of mine. I've made a few for her lately, so you will see them soon with luck!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
I just love the mask and the fluffy feathers and the leaves. I've still got some of those in my crafty stash so will have to find them. I'm trying to use up some of my older stuff so that I can get new stuff! The age old problem of being a crafter, you don't want to use it all as it's so nice, but you need to so that you can make room for new stash!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

My Aunt asked me to make this one for her Great Grand Child who loves Peppa Pig. I made this one myself with cut out circles. It seemed to work fine. Until she told me they weren't one but two. I'd got them mixed up with a friend of mine whose child is one! Oops! Never mind, it turned out alright in the end!<br />
<br />
Hope to see you all again soon with the new cards I've made!<br />
<br />
Keep smiling!!!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-11786493516042884632015-03-18T23:50:00.001+00:002015-03-18T23:52:35.425+00:00WOYWW 302 - I'm back again!Hello <a href="http://www.stamping-ground.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> deskers...I'm back again.... Thanks for sticking by me. You never know from one day to the next what you're going to get on dialysis. At least with Chemotherapy/Radiotherapy there's an end date, with this there isn't.
So before I forget, here's the special card I made at Christmas for the Dialysis Nurses.
<br />
<br />
If you look closely you'll see it's a real dialysis machine...and yes....it is mine!!!! I've nicknamed him Brian. He reminds me of Brian from Confused.com fame and it has kind of stuck!!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNND5IWu27XQhekFZFYCtW_xuHM0DNAVgzCIs7znse4-KI5wuy4PqFc3pf40Bv99TKWRW2dpGUBP5LSZDraA3Ca_mZX_uMDRv8Zch19XaxIzCUS8DUUGxl15cVfMfj__dcXeoaGTJXCqA/s1600/520-05.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgNND5IWu27XQhekFZFYCtW_xuHM0DNAVgzCIs7znse4-KI5wuy4PqFc3pf40Bv99TKWRW2dpGUBP5LSZDraA3Ca_mZX_uMDRv8Zch19XaxIzCUS8DUUGxl15cVfMfj__dcXeoaGTJXCqA/s320/520-05.jpg" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Then Michelle, one of the Dialysis Nurses asked me to make a special card for a big birthday, so I made it a pop up box card. It had many items on it, but with some careful thought it came together well. I hope!</div>

I've also been working on some special things but I can't share them with you just yet. I'll post them soon though. I'm also trying to put together some card packs but my mojo has gone a bit. The ideas are there but the rest isn't!! <br />
<br />Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-57355703302645279102014-12-31T10:41:00.000+00:002014-12-31T22:49:01.159+00:00Christmas Items for Dialysis Nurses and special cards......<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Hello everyone!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Welcome back to <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a>. I've missed quite a few but am hoping to catch up now! 😃</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Sorry I've not been here but lots of things have stopped me from catching up with you all. It's a really strange thing going from manic every day to catch up to then doing nothing! Really odd!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Anyway I thought I'd share some of my recent makes with you. This one is for some special monkeys who make me laugh every day! Thanks guys!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2TqeW0wAi8mP9H7fE0rDKq2q0j7sPimfN67PcT1cibRsux7vB84famtqllNqTftcR62oZtiB4ObH_f2brZi0jqwnTjl4ftnyyzBXX-TQ1hFQft_KFRyVC-Fmvb2MqiPXtoInwQGBQRlE/s1600/519-1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEg2TqeW0wAi8mP9H7fE0rDKq2q0j7sPimfN67PcT1cibRsux7vB84famtqllNqTftcR62oZtiB4ObH_f2brZi0jqwnTjl4ftnyyzBXX-TQ1hFQft_KFRyVC-Fmvb2MqiPXtoInwQGBQRlE/s1600/519-1.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
This next purple card is for a special Dialysis Nurse, you know who you are! He always makes me laugh and believe me, anything that makes dialysis better/easier is good in my book!!! He always mentions that I like purple, so it had to be a purple card didn't it. The last of my special purple card too!<br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB5Aec2VLHfkZi03W_GfcY7WFwLhBRsIduK8KFQlkGPOgF4EmnVBYe-m7GTCnpUmcnYwcb0pT35KAq2hJk8v8oDFEd21HXNsW41krwCxiwBIYfdVRkTp8MOd6nCW_Y0YAeC4rlK8IPrpE/s1600/519-2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB5Aec2VLHfkZi03W_GfcY7WFwLhBRsIduK8KFQlkGPOgF4EmnVBYe-m7GTCnpUmcnYwcb0pT35KAq2hJk8v8oDFEd21HXNsW41krwCxiwBIYfdVRkTp8MOd6nCW_Y0YAeC4rlK8IPrpE/s1600/519-2.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's what took me a lifetime to do, well it seemed like it. I wanted to make the Nurses something special rather than give the standard chocolates or cans of beer! I hand made each and every one of them. <br />
<br />
I cooked some caramelised nuts, added in some sweets, some chocolate Brussels Sprouts, and chocolate Orange Clementine's along with some special chocolate truffles. I also made some coconut snowballs too which seemed to go down very well. Some Nurses said it reminded them of home so much which was a lovely thing to say and I'm pleased it gave them some special memories too.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwp4bmS77MATlO12KFX2Cy4ZcLvBRu4ncD9qOFjtrqq4snrjT6TjqKL5wZOQqTs1FCWJuqnzKRb76v3FT0gW_5KY9MsAFXbg9sDNQB2i1Uq1gdqyN8TwVrFGxtOvlKTfTUI4bRgdQ-y_4/s1600/519-5.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjwp4bmS77MATlO12KFX2Cy4ZcLvBRu4ncD9qOFjtrqq4snrjT6TjqKL5wZOQqTs1FCWJuqnzKRb76v3FT0gW_5KY9MsAFXbg9sDNQB2i1Uq1gdqyN8TwVrFGxtOvlKTfTUI4bRgdQ-y_4/s1600/519-5.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I also made some little matchboxes and filled them with chocolate Brussels sprouts. I've had some wonderful comments from the Nurses saying how special it was and they enjoyed them. They also said it must've taken me a while to do them and they don't know how long it actually took me to do. <br />
<br />
Just putting the contents in and adding the ribbons took me nearly most of my Sunday before dialysis. I liked doing them though but didn't realise how long it would take to do 20 of them! Worth it in the end though! Although one of the Nurses said I've now got to top it in 2015. John said that to me but I said it was a one off for the first special one. However now I'm going to have to start thinking in about September to get them all done. I don't mind, as I said I really enjoyed it. As they're keeping me alive I really am grateful and appreciate each and every one of them. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhpJBU4Ea6wLvbJ-GSOQlkFtAzN0Irpss0rm-R63ShsYZCOn_VpU-numoFTIGEiIlHf-m7P3AmqaBu9t94oZB7zwe7U9HBHArk4DIeUxmriH0oSaJK54qke6LlLND9BroKnOASZ8IV5Mg/s1600/519-6.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjhpJBU4Ea6wLvbJ-GSOQlkFtAzN0Irpss0rm-R63ShsYZCOn_VpU-numoFTIGEiIlHf-m7P3AmqaBu9t94oZB7zwe7U9HBHArk4DIeUxmriH0oSaJK54qke6LlLND9BroKnOASZ8IV5Mg/s1600/519-6.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<br />
For my special friends I also made some Handmade Sugar Scrub. It took me a while to get the contents as I've really slowed down since dialysis started but I was determined to do it all. I just made it before Christmas so phew...!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJd-Z5leVz7YRyqh6vF_-ltXwC4ZAD90WV7KRFSdCOREkIT1zV9CX0vUOwaTKCotubHOlJewKZnJ6lfGFlRRHhoikaYmZU_RSRA4Eytev0NDkBfbZ1DTR0T8En64hZLq9oMWFS5tSX0Ss/s1600/519-7.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJd-Z5leVz7YRyqh6vF_-ltXwC4ZAD90WV7KRFSdCOREkIT1zV9CX0vUOwaTKCotubHOlJewKZnJ6lfGFlRRHhoikaYmZU_RSRA4Eytev0NDkBfbZ1DTR0T8En64hZLq9oMWFS5tSX0Ss/s1600/519-7.jpg" height="320" width="193" /></a></div>
<br />
Here's all the little matchboxes I made, 22 in total as I had to make extras in case my memory of names let me down. You can just see the chocolate Brussels Sprouts in them too! They are so cute.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
<br />
The sugar scrubs all done ready for distribution with my purple Santa hat on!!<br />

<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
In between my Aunt asked me to make a Peppa Pig card for her great grandson who was two. I had in my head that he was one the same as my friends little girl and yes, my memory le me down again and I had to quickly make one with 2 on it!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
Well that's enough of catching up for me. My hands are freezing (another side effect of dialysis) and I've not quite recovered from my awful session yesterday, so I'm going to take it easy and have a decaf coffee now.<br />
<br />
Take care everyone and have a fantastic 2015!!!!<br />
<br />
Happy New Year!!! XXKarenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com10tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-51233223750473822552014-12-30T13:34:00.000+00:002014-12-30T13:35:14.231+00:00It's been a while...sorry....!Hello Everyone<br />
<br />
Thanks SO much for not leaving me whilst I've been AWOL.<br />
<br />
Yet again, kidney dialysis has taken it's toll. I really didn't know how exhausted this would leave me. Chemotherapy and radiotherapy did the same but there was an end date to treatment with that. With kidney dialysis there is no end date.....<br />
<br />
Anyway enough of that, let's show you some cards I've been working on.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMA0TV9RAgkMWFXgYp11GWaGqyGY5k3ZvSw8DR52hYBB9FwRjnLqc6XmreSCBmmPhLsZFSNcCWwqPbXVQwmAOjmQ-Zk0xQWEVwjU0XkiBEscq4vcB4xeopPooj8u8m5rsTLFn4HBT6-QE/s1600/518+(15).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMA0TV9RAgkMWFXgYp11GWaGqyGY5k3ZvSw8DR52hYBB9FwRjnLqc6XmreSCBmmPhLsZFSNcCWwqPbXVQwmAOjmQ-Zk0xQWEVwjU0XkiBEscq4vcB4xeopPooj8u8m5rsTLFn4HBT6-QE/s1600/518+(15).JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
It's a selection of some I've made recently but just not had the time or energy to blog them for you.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2dPTTvDwf66glUMBcStSPL0pXJ0ApNB443UuIGi5WfdXUNlp6MUXwhCV4Wq5XEMQCsJgx7Ft1Giy6aJ5rkvy2ZiZu4Ut1NFjpWu1zAsKqnFe5ZsfpBZhvQPuPCfV7B0Kl6fu3DAFjImo/s1600/518+(24).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh2dPTTvDwf66glUMBcStSPL0pXJ0ApNB443UuIGi5WfdXUNlp6MUXwhCV4Wq5XEMQCsJgx7Ft1Giy6aJ5rkvy2ZiZu4Ut1NFjpWu1zAsKqnFe5ZsfpBZhvQPuPCfV7B0Kl6fu3DAFjImo/s1600/518+(24).JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
I found some of these beautiful flowers in my stash so decided to use up some of them on these to sell for the hospital where I've had all my operations and my initial dialysis sessions. I gave the cheque for £100 to them and it was really appreciated which is nice.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

They offered to give me a guided tour around the Laboratory when I'm next there which is fantastic. I had a tour around our local Hospital when I was helping out Macmillan Cancer. It's very interesting to see what is being done to help us poor patients with these awful diseases.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

The card above was made using Vellum with plain white card. I used to same colour to add the background to the sentiment with Promarkers. It isn't crooked either, but looks it in the photograph, sorry!<br />

Some of a free kit that came with a magazine and some new bargains from Hobbycraft!! Along with some beautiful diecuts from my good friend Gill. Thanks Gill!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0wXn5zgNSk35U7FQFmFqqZNtUp5LhYS33YYHvsp4l3l9o39kN9qSTKZJIY-nz2Nz9FBm5N_y-lNXzJIV_XnyZpIXZRsWpZzxU28guHf8GsjuJArVGAziw-y5Xiw0scjBpBF6IrLJNrvo/s1600/518+(42).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi0wXn5zgNSk35U7FQFmFqqZNtUp5LhYS33YYHvsp4l3l9o39kN9qSTKZJIY-nz2Nz9FBm5N_y-lNXzJIV_XnyZpIXZRsWpZzxU28guHf8GsjuJArVGAziw-y5Xiw0scjBpBF6IrLJNrvo/s1600/518+(42).JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
Some old embossing folders came into use again and also some of the freebies from the magazine kit and some extra bits like the bows came from Gill. Thanks again Gill...!!!<br />
<br />
Well that's another small update from me. Sorry it's so short but it's not easy at the moment. I'll be back again soon hopefully.Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-1537983962521474152014-09-24T09:30:00.000+01:002014-09-24T11:01:29.234+01:00WOYWW 277 - yay, back again!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Thanks everyone on <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> and others for being so patient whilst I've been AWOL....!!! I've had quite a few problems on dialysis and not much energy to catch up or the inclination to be honest. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but boy, this has totally knocked me for six.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So what cards have I made? Well I've done a few and will post them for you all to see. I can't show you my Workdesk, as it's my bed and I've put it all away before realising I'd not taken any photos. So for now, I will show you some of the cards I've made.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one was a special request for a friend of mine. I made the little vegetables myself drawn freehand and then coloured with PM's and then used glossy accents on them. I used paper which looked like the skin of vegetables but you can't see it very well from the photo.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

This one is a little blurred but it's used up some of my 'Sale Bargains' in my stash. I've been trying to use up as much as I can to make space for new stash!!!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMLjaesF30euZpNiMzTRe4bIhw9sHZya9eJLdSpq0RSgVJWTBKN4zD5oRPJYcKaPODSXk6mKfVQpWpZLJgAWt4Uv3dM1yes-RS1HldShMrfokiwhZDQxjiXm2pc0qjTj0I8umv0fxP5c8/s1600/518+(9).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjMLjaesF30euZpNiMzTRe4bIhw9sHZya9eJLdSpq0RSgVJWTBKN4zD5oRPJYcKaPODSXk6mKfVQpWpZLJgAWt4Uv3dM1yes-RS1HldShMrfokiwhZDQxjiXm2pc0qjTj0I8umv0fxP5c8/s1600/518+(9).JPG" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
I made this from some of the leftovers from a kit I purchased for one item for someone special. I'll be showing you what I made soon so you can see. I had lots leftover, so decided to use it with an easel card and the last of my adhesive borders.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I just love these embossing folders (free in a cardmaking magazine a while back). I used Cor-dinations and distressed them with an old nail file someone gave me at a Cancer Conference I went to. I had some flowers in my stash so used them with co-ordinating gems too. The Happy Birthday was from a Justrite set I had for Christmas last year I think. (Don't rely on my memory, but if you need to know I can check for you!).<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Another little kit for someone special who loves cats. Underneath the topper it has a gorgeous poem. Sadly there's only a couple left.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBxGKcwgBM3iOgYvZ7zoiCLsRww8gRSGBUqqSJxYjy1gdHaJf31jwfJiaW-GOpkdNwNgnrmRYQUH7-LywX-JwiMQO6QsNZu-fcn15oT1o8B3Z64DFB_0pB730yulS9nBLkdV4yt6o-uVw/s1600/518+(21).JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBxGKcwgBM3iOgYvZ7zoiCLsRww8gRSGBUqqSJxYjy1gdHaJf31jwfJiaW-GOpkdNwNgnrmRYQUH7-LywX-JwiMQO6QsNZu-fcn15oT1o8B3Z64DFB_0pB730yulS9nBLkdV4yt6o-uVw/s1600/518+(21).JPG" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
Another kit from a magazine and used up some of the backing papers in it too. The lovely die cut is from my good friend Gill so I'm not sure of the make etc. I just added the gems to it!<br />
<br />
I'm really pleased to let you all know that I've now raised over £100 for charity in the last few months with my cardmaking. I donate 100% to the charity and this time I'm sending it to the <em>South West Thames Institute for Renal Research and St Helier and Surrey Kidney Patients Association (SHAK).</em><br />
<br />
It's too late for me I think, but it might save others going through dialysis after having chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Even if it helps just a couple of people it will be worth it. To save someone else going through this is what the researchers are working hard for.<br />
<br />
If you go past a collection box for Kidney Research, please donate generously! It all helps as they say!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com16tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-8862951889111381872014-07-09T10:44:00.000+01:002014-07-09T10:44:20.902+01:00WOYWW 266 - catching up again......Hi Everyone and welcome to <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> again. I'm still playing catch up here with dialysis being sometimes OK and sometimes definitely not OK......!!!<br />
<br />
You can see some of my latest cards in the blog post below this one. <br />
<br />
So what has been on my workdesk then? Well it's a special box card made from A3 size card!!!! Biggest one I've made so far, but it was for a special friends daughter so I really went to town for her.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU8yOD-nx5J6ywyTIkTw0SEDZ9ut_HOzBEp29acQqxQfLn8WtUcyGzditIWq9vfoNNPDTCyKIE_ReXDZo1LN2Mz2KRvWv5y5zSMS5t44r0RdhyphenhyphenIk7qe1glUtP4Cp7I_aJnh-91P_Fani8/s1600/517+(10).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjU8yOD-nx5J6ywyTIkTw0SEDZ9ut_HOzBEp29acQqxQfLn8WtUcyGzditIWq9vfoNNPDTCyKIE_ReXDZo1LN2Mz2KRvWv5y5zSMS5t44r0RdhyphenhyphenIk7qe1glUtP4Cp7I_aJnh-91P_Fani8/s1600/517+(10).jpg" height="191" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />The photo is not brilliant but you can get the idea of the card and what was one it, cats, flowers, singing, fish, pawprints, more flowers, bows, letters - I really got my little grey cell working on this one!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />I'm just catching up in between dialysis and have over time made these cards. Some are new styles for me, I wanted to try new things. The above is one of them! I had these stamps for Christmas but this is the first inking they've had. I've done more since, but they are still to be made up!<br />

A wedding invitation reply card. The whole card is covered in Mica Powder and looked really sparkly but you can't see much of it on the photo! <br />

These two cards are similar, but just different colour schemes! I added on some flowers to the grass after the photo was taken but they've gone to the charity now so I can't re-photograph them for you, sorry!<br />

I'm just putting together a few birthday cards for friends of my Aunt who want more of my cards after buying all I had of the "Thank You" and "Get Well Soon" ones in my charity box. I'm trying to make unusual shaped ones instead of the normal, fold in half type! <br />
<br />
So look out for many more coming soon - if I have the energy after dialysis that is!<br />
<br />
Keep smiling and keep crafting!<br />

<br />
Hello to everyone who is staying with me during my adjustment to dialysis :-) <br />
<br />
I've been told it can take anything from 1-2 years, perhaps longer. So this is going to be one helluva adjustment time! As long as I can still do some card making, that keeps me sane so here's what I've been working on lately!<br />
<br />
I've made a few of these for the lovely Nurses who have been looking after me on dialysis. I like to say thanks and I also gave out a few tins of chocolates for them too. They all work so hard and deserve a treat! Also not forgetting the ambulance drivers who get me to dialysis, without them I wouldn't get there at all. I don't think they get many cards as they were really chuffed to get mine and it's been up in the ambulance ever since! Nice to be appreciated!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCd6lgf__vpiEAr1S-xGncVR_M4IN1BGYp6Ur7oZMkPZx1skLWx_tNGsEMG9Ppgs7DHWC5lrO7kOA5I2S0XiLSJnjNc_1pDa7_hiUIEi5zcNg4gnWVoJAkOeEXwNPWGguJF_LzwR2_qbs/s1600/516+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgCd6lgf__vpiEAr1S-xGncVR_M4IN1BGYp6Ur7oZMkPZx1skLWx_tNGsEMG9Ppgs7DHWC5lrO7kOA5I2S0XiLSJnjNc_1pDa7_hiUIEi5zcNg4gnWVoJAkOeEXwNPWGguJF_LzwR2_qbs/s1600/516+(3).jpg" height="297" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I was asked by a friend of my Aunt's if I could make a selection of "Thanks" and "Get Well" cards, and here are a selection of the ones I've made for her to choose from. I will put the rest into my charity cardmaking box to raise money for them.<br />

Some are variations of each other, depending on what paper/card combinations I had left. I don't like to waste any bits of paper/card as you can tell. My pockets aren't never ending so I use them all up to help the charities.<br />

All of the cards are definitely straight (says Mrs OCD!) it's just the camera has shown them at odd angles! Sorry about that.<br />

On the following two cards I had a go at making the envelopes out of paper too! Not bad for a first attempt! They weren't standard sizes so I made them an approximate size.</div>

The following cards are special ones I made for my best friend, she died from cancer at only 45 years of age. These are for her Mum and Dad and her Aunt. It's my friends birthday soon and I want to let them know I haven't forgotten her. I never will.<br />
<br />

<br />
I do hope they like them and I'd love to know what you think too if you have a moment.<br />

Well that's it for now. I hope it won't be so long next time before a posting, but it all depends on how dialysis makes me feel. It's just a case of taking it one day at a time at the moment as I never know how it's going to make me feel.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Take care everyone and hope you managed to get some crafting done on this grey, cold, wet Bank Holiday Monday!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Enjoy! Keep smiling and keep crafting everyone!</div>

Well as it's <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> I thought I'd best post some of the Easter cards I've been making. I must admit this dialysis has slowed me down and made me very tired....zzzzzzz.....zzzzz but I just HAD to make some cards. <br />

<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtX9apMfO-eFHhO2HNXI79Wyw6NJ-udkL_BJWCcHscpKSxzhq9RXkvHTrAkXHIszF1Tu3el3hq5k6jdC1PH-q3PPcMCj3DQJdpIk8kfTj7fEmDM1vAYtsNImahkbxpJRZEfj3JxP-qPw4/s1600/515+(4).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhtX9apMfO-eFHhO2HNXI79Wyw6NJ-udkL_BJWCcHscpKSxzhq9RXkvHTrAkXHIszF1Tu3el3hq5k6jdC1PH-q3PPcMCj3DQJdpIk8kfTj7fEmDM1vAYtsNImahkbxpJRZEfj3JxP-qPw4/s1600/515+(4).jpg" height="320" width="191" /></a></div>
I can watch Craft TV whilst on dialysis and it's given me loads of ideas, I just haven't had the energy to do them.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOEdNbN7UikKO0mlbHyKXEikG0FG1lmi7-aNzjZgYHsT-kD_sQ3JlDA5OjgZ63SOZJWGGa6s26Nqeshizh9WLEtqheRIvaumLbUigzLu9UlexqNlkvof6n3v_CRoW0vkvmuxXjKA_kFII/s1600/515+(9).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiOEdNbN7UikKO0mlbHyKXEikG0FG1lmi7-aNzjZgYHsT-kD_sQ3JlDA5OjgZ63SOZJWGGa6s26Nqeshizh9WLEtqheRIvaumLbUigzLu9UlexqNlkvof6n3v_CRoW0vkvmuxXjKA_kFII/s1600/515+(9).jpg" height="320" width="191" /></a></div>
However I really wanted to make some Easter cards and was determined to do it, so got everything ready and had a marathon session with lots of rest breaks too.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-6u8W12_N4oCBsqw5hk9FXnuRQuqKccvieKrSdAx3ckMt_S6xFBzp-iCUdlP3ccr1PPOAyGi6xZkrF_-y609lkVZzskw0A1-V212Z0ZZEBfpA07zUCBK0KLq9YxTEtV286DaJxb-Y8U/s1600/515+(10).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiY-6u8W12_N4oCBsqw5hk9FXnuRQuqKccvieKrSdAx3ckMt_S6xFBzp-iCUdlP3ccr1PPOAyGi6xZkrF_-y609lkVZzskw0A1-V212Z0ZZEBfpA07zUCBK0KLq9YxTEtV286DaJxb-Y8U/s1600/515+(10).jpg" height="320" width="191" /></a></div>
I wasn't prepared for the tiredness of dialysis, and it's going to take some adjusting to the good/bad days, but hey, I'm still here after cancer, diabetes, two DVT's and everything else thrown in to the mix, so I'm gonna make the most of it! As Darnell says, LITS!!!!<br />
<br />
Have fun everyone, and have a great Easter break too!!!<br />
<br />
Keep smiling :-)))Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com20tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-8443225260102981572014-02-26T12:14:00.001+00:002014-02-26T12:14:18.192+00:00WOYWW 247 -- popping by again..!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

Another <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> and I was determined to make this one! <br />
<br />
Well here I am in between dialysis again! Phew it's certainly life changing and sure does take some getting used to. One minute you feel fine, the next really rough. I think I felt better before I started dialysis as I didn't realise how bad it was getting, my body just kept on adapting to the changes of failing kidneys without me realising.<br />
<br />
So what have I been up to then? Well I've been doing some paper piecing and made a Get Well Card for a friend of mine who is having a tough time.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUF5_toUFwS0b_FUkqzBV5ZtLdm4w0j1vler66Ygq706AG2WGbafL9JwByGydo6-G7GISzjI5DTfd1no8fzettDB65jpi3PgoDRQNIER4Dnbtkcngv8i-0FNvbpNd4UHrHCkwMxP_Fpiw/s1600/231+(3).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiUF5_toUFwS0b_FUkqzBV5ZtLdm4w0j1vler66Ygq706AG2WGbafL9JwByGydo6-G7GISzjI5DTfd1no8fzettDB65jpi3PgoDRQNIER4Dnbtkcngv8i-0FNvbpNd4UHrHCkwMxP_Fpiw/s1600/231+(3).jpg" height="192" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
I've also got some Birthday cards to make, and here's one of the toppers I've just created, waiting for the Glossy Accents to dry in this cold weather. At least the floods are going down now which is a good sign as long as we have no more rain.<br />
<br />
I've also got some Thank You cards to make, but am just deciding on the design. I've got to get a conveyor belt going as I need quite a few! Any ideas for some 'quick makes' would be appreciated!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZKpUfFX9izulvZTUZJLoLaDV8JD3Gg6sNtm57jpjUD_eBfp8dnGZmJKtFw_FczLOdo-2-WD-gWeyY19MOaaB9-ZMee_HTAgXpWEXmCXcFUoX4iXmilZy08DB32Nh9mhaerSiNjJJ7-6I/s1600/231+(5).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiZKpUfFX9izulvZTUZJLoLaDV8JD3Gg6sNtm57jpjUD_eBfp8dnGZmJKtFw_FczLOdo-2-WD-gWeyY19MOaaB9-ZMee_HTAgXpWEXmCXcFUoX4iXmilZy08DB32Nh9mhaerSiNjJJ7-6I/s1600/231+(5).jpg" height="192" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
Talking of "Thank You" I'd just like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Gill (and your friend who did the knitting!) and Lunch Lady Jan who have sent me these gorgeous wrist warmers. I mentioned after my operation my left hand/arm is sooooooo cold all the time. It's one of the side effects apparently. My hands go very cold then numb and I have to try to get the feeling back in them before I can do anything!<br />
<br />
Hope you all have a lovely day and keep on crafting!!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com15tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-54668643058210156522014-01-29T09:00:00.000+00:002014-01-29T11:07:51.646+00:00WOYWW 243 - I'm back...kind of.....<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Well after a long absence, which included two operations and numerous dialysis treatments, I'm now starting to get into a sort of routine. It's life changing having dialysis, but I'm getting used to it I suppose. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The main thing I missed was crafting and my crafting buddies on <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a>, but I'm trying to get back into doing some small items. Mainly colouring as I'm not allowed to lift anything with my Fistula arm after my operation on Wednesday.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It didn't go well as the regional block didn't work and I felt every cut until they knocked me out with a general...phew....thank heavens for that!!!</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge9hYCiu1htMv4R5m68jyb7o2glkdkSvnmy5shxq8dM4PBPVFeqyWqBeJICdFQgP_cw3zMFEv2H9LOo35Hv_9eWB9RyOXnlTsiAlhChS3vmZ8oaXWhkBZyQfugaztmgUBkY4hhvy51o88/s1600/229.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEge9hYCiu1htMv4R5m68jyb7o2glkdkSvnmy5shxq8dM4PBPVFeqyWqBeJICdFQgP_cw3zMFEv2H9LOo35Hv_9eWB9RyOXnlTsiAlhChS3vmZ8oaXWhkBZyQfugaztmgUBkY4hhvy51o88/s1600/229.jpg" height="240" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
So here's one of my efforts, a little elephant, stamped twice and decoupaged with some glitter. Boy do I miss our little old lady kitty Domi when using glitter. She usually ended up with more on her than I did and that's saying something!!! We miss her every day.....</div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBu_k5mPsS94zwzeiAtHC1eFe9LcRDKQUsIBYI-N5jpTEzcmF1s-OsCvsWyOl2_YjI_klYcI8bOX3PcgTQbn3AJWTSV2nCPmug9qUZXYCle-uOX38c-EWTHKPzgUbCLvrIYxkM1Xxt-r0/s1600/515.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiBu_k5mPsS94zwzeiAtHC1eFe9LcRDKQUsIBYI-N5jpTEzcmF1s-OsCvsWyOl2_YjI_klYcI8bOX3PcgTQbn3AJWTSV2nCPmug9qUZXYCle-uOX38c-EWTHKPzgUbCLvrIYxkM1Xxt-r0/s1600/515.jpg" height="320" width="240" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Here's a completed card I made for a friend who is also running a charity and I make crochet blankets for her. I'm hoping to start doing some when on dialysis, should get loads done with just sitting for hours on end, unless the machine gets set off by the movement I suppose. Will have to try it and see, have a test run!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another question, does anyone have a pattern for lacy wrist warmers? My hand is so cold after the fistula operation and it might get worse so anything to keep them warm and stop them going numb would help! Thanks!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
It'd be great to hear from anyone who remembers me after all this time!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Happy Crafting everyone! :-)</div>

<br />
Just to let you know the latest happenings here.<br />
<br />
My brother is doing well after his stroke. He is now home and we're playing Carer/Nurse/etc ensuring he is doing OK. His Rheumatoid/Osteoarthritis are holding him back at the moment. He's in a lot of pain with that and the Dr has upped his meds to see if it helps more.<br />
<br />
I've been in hospital for nine days with worsening kidney failure. I've now had the pre-dialysis talk and am deciding which route to go for on dialysis which will probably have to start in the New Year. I've got a CT scan the day before Christmas Eve and another type of scan in a different hospital on New Years Eve! It's all good fun huh!<br />
<br />
Not a good start, but it can only go up from here now can't it!!!! Fingers crossed it goes upwards anyway after all the downs we've had with health issues.<br />
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
</h3>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">Have a very Merry Christmas and</span></h3>
<h3 style="text-align: center;">
<span style="color: red; font-family: Georgia, "Times New Roman", serif;">a Happy New Year too!</span> </h3>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
Once everything is more stabilised I'll see you all in the New Year and be back to some sort of crafting too! Who knows, I might even be able to do some whilst having dialysis.</div>
<div style="text-align: center;">
PS. If anyone has dialysis please contact me as I'd love to ask some questions if you don't mind!</div>
Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-51712161998107892722013-11-12T09:54:00.005+00:002013-11-12T09:54:40.612+00:00Quick UpdateHi All<br />
<br />
Just to let you all know, our little Domi went to sleep and didn't wake up again - aged 21 years and 2 weeks young. She is sorely missed every single minute and has left a huge hole in all our hearts and everyone who knew her. Such a sweetie. I'm collecting her from the Pet Crematorium today to bring her home again.<br />
<br />
It was supposed to all our family collecting her, but more bad news, my little Brother has had a stroke and is in hospital. He is going on well and hopefully once he can stand and do the tasks he needs to do to satisfy them at the hospital he can go to Stroke Rehab Hospital next. He has Rheumatoid Arthritis really bad so this is hampering his recovery as it's on happened on his already weak side.<br />
<br />
Watching him having the stroke and calling the ambulance was scary, but it's loads better seeing him make small improvements each day we visit.<br />
<br />
I spent all day from 8.45am and got home about 8.45pm at the hospital as I still have my hospital appointments to get to. My Brother is our driver in our family as I'm not allowed to drive so it's really difficult getting to places with two crutches myself, but hey, life goes on.<br />
<br />
We smile, we laugh, we carry on....!!!<br />
<br />

I'll do my best to get back up to date!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-42365909797671922202013-10-16T11:35:00.002+01:002013-10-16T11:35:41.493+01:00WOYWW 228 - I'm back.....!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

I'm back for <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/2013/10/whats-on-your-workdesk-wednesday-228.html#more" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> again and sorry as I've been away for so long. Not for anything delightful like a holiday or a gorgeous surprise but for health reasons/problems.<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Rather than go into everything, let's just say not much time for crafting, but I've now managed to get in a little and have enjoyed it so much! It's amazing how better you feel for doing a little crafting!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Our Domi has been to the vet but he is still amazed how remarkably well she is for a 21 year old, and described her as "feisty" after she had an in-stay for some extra help with her fluids etc. She never lashed out but has now started to growl a bit if she is kept waiting for anything she wants LOL!! She had her 21st Birthday Party at the weekend (yes, I know it's a cat but she IS family to us and we love her dearly bless!).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Above are the beginnings of two cards I made for her. I've not got much else to show you but hopefully things will start to improve with some fingers crossed!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
Here's the little Dog I was using before. His name is Barkley and he's so cute - thanks Gill...!!! I had some die cuts from another card I'd made and used them on this card. Just adding the little small silver stars from some old peel offs I've still got - they still come in useful I find.<br />

<br />
Hello <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW'</a>ers!! Check out the link to find out why we're posting photos of our work desk, work cupboard, work trays etc. It's very addictive, so give it a go and join us!<br />
<br />
So on my little work tray (and including my bed this time as it kind of spread out a bit) are some Christmas cards I'm working on for the charities I support. I've had some lovely toppers sent to me by Gill and they are SO cute! <br />
<br />
Unfortunately I cut the top off two of them as I didn't realise I had two pieces of CS in the trimmer, oops. I managed to save most of them though and will be using them on other cards. A crafter can fix anything huh! I'm a bit accident prone at the moment, my hands don't belong to me!<br />
<br />
In case you missed it, my previous post shows you the Golden Wedding card I was commissioned to make. Hope you like it!<br />
<br />
Have a great day!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com21tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-73772659474115004542013-09-13T11:26:00.002+01:002013-09-13T11:26:54.482+01:00Golden Wedding Card<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
If you saw my previous posting, you'll know all about this card!! I had lots of golden items on my worktray and it was a while before the idea came into my head of what I was going to do with it all to finish my card.<br />
<br />
It's a combination of matt and shiny gold, and as you can see, I had enough of the matt card to make three more flowers (just) after my disaster with the trimmer. Phew!!!<br />
<br />
I coloured the edge of the hearts with a Promarker, can you believe the "Gold" one was nothing like Gold so I used "Sunflower" instead!!!<br />
<br />
Enjoy!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-91088240188723668472013-09-11T10:18:00.002+01:002013-09-11T10:19:30.767+01:00WOYWW 223 (Goldfinger.....!)<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB7ltJkrrFskdXxe23FU95ZrteVDSmt1kaINJiVEqloLTCch4ImPBo92LzztgTuc3C9LMxXABL4pYmKL6-m1_YRMc1pZxNT5QCk7FIUkW43VvCLe9Mdz22Qwxoqg-Cv08o76l8YAztHs8/s1600/223+(1).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiB7ltJkrrFskdXxe23FU95ZrteVDSmt1kaINJiVEqloLTCch4ImPBo92LzztgTuc3C9LMxXABL4pYmKL6-m1_YRMc1pZxNT5QCk7FIUkW43VvCLe9Mdz22Qwxoqg-Cv08o76l8YAztHs8/s320/223+(1).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Now why did that song come into my head? Well it could be because my work trays are full of all things golden! Yes, I've been asked to make another Golden Wedding card. What an achievement huh! (The golden wedding, not my cardmaking efforts!).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
Another achievement is making it here to <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> as my screen is going kaput....! I'm not sure how much longer it will last. It keeps turning itself off when I'm using it. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVpFEpzzI0y6kmeSE4l7pzF5h_6ZVW8VBd8dMlS7t4EM_7-5Q9BZhzV7uBpALSspHZN7RTI2590R0hXBuogY05QZ7EO7hgirAdlKZXiufXizcZzo3NT5HGzeM2t0St8EONVlOe6Z01qFE/s1600/223+(2).jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhVpFEpzzI0y6kmeSE4l7pzF5h_6ZVW8VBd8dMlS7t4EM_7-5Q9BZhzV7uBpALSspHZN7RTI2590R0hXBuogY05QZ7EO7hgirAdlKZXiufXizcZzo3NT5HGzeM2t0St8EONVlOe6Z01qFE/s320/223+(2).jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<br />
As I was using all things gold I also took the chance to make some other gold things I might need for my next Christmas card. <br />
<br />
Oh yes, you see those lovely golden flowers? Well they don't look like it anymore! After taking the photo, I put my trimmer across the little tray and cut some card.....then after taking it off, noticed my flowers were all squished!!! The glue hadn't dried totally and they were all ruined...! Cue sad face!! I only have one piece of the matt gold card, so it's cutting it a bit fine (no pun intended!).<br />
<br />
Before I wear out my !!!!! key, I will now leave you all to go snooping around the world...have fun!!!<br />
<br />
Oh, don't forget to check out my previous post to see the "Bird Sympathy Card" I made.<br />
<br />
Enjoy!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com12tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-23837560034137782812013-09-10T10:47:00.001+01:002013-09-10T10:47:04.921+01:00Finished Cards!<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em; text-align: left;">
<br />Here's the finished card I made for my bestest Auntie. Along with the card I gave her some Yellow Roses (I love the smell of flowers!). She appreciated the card and told me she was going to show her friends that evening as she'd been invited to a girls night in! Not bad for an 82 year old huh!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
These three cards were for my Mum on her birthday. The first one is from Domi, yes our cat does give out cards and presents too! She's very clever with her pocket money...LOL! This is a Stickeroo from my lovely friend Gill. They are so easy to use and I just had to have a cat on here didn't I!<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
Sorry about the backing of this, it was all I had to hand! It doesn't show it off very well but at least you can see it. This was my first effort at distressing flowers with ink. </div>
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlC26w_rR7YCQFAlTAHac1Y7enO4Qx14qiYv2zIqBKeuILAu869Zxm8ta6mqbZQBCfzICEGWstSrIDy9yK8IY3wKpUnpRjyPUoDuG7Oi2u2a-4PeRVoHNN-e7bn1PPNaiE4ql-RoS4kB8/s1600/509c.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjlC26w_rR7YCQFAlTAHac1Y7enO4Qx14qiYv2zIqBKeuILAu869Zxm8ta6mqbZQBCfzICEGWstSrIDy9yK8IY3wKpUnpRjyPUoDuG7Oi2u2a-4PeRVoHNN-e7bn1PPNaiE4ql-RoS4kB8/s320/509c.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
</div>
<div style="text-align: left;">
This final one was a bit of a worry, I put silver glitter glue on it and by the morning the card had warped in the shape of the glue! Argghhh! However by the next evening it had gone back down again, phew! I used my faux stained glass effect on this one. The little flowers I've had for ages, and decided to give them an airing.</div>
<br />
Enjoy!<br />

<br />
Hello and welcome to <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> 222! Another week gone by and someone told me it's now only 111 days until Christmas! <br />
<br />
I had good intentions of doing some crafting but hospitals and illness got in the way again. Never mind, I did manage to do this. It's not a card we all like making, but sometimes they need to be done.<br />
<br />
My bestest Auntie rang me to tell me her little cockatiel had died, she'd had her for 12 years and as she came from someone else they didn't know how old she really was. I know it may sound daft to some of you making a Sympathy Card for a bird, but birds are also part of our families as well as cats and dogs and when one dies it is like losing a member of your family. I'll miss her I know that.<br />
<br />
If you come back later in the week you'll see the finished card. Talking of finished cards, check out the posts below and you'll see the Wedding Cards and also some different style Christmas Cards I've made. I'm trying to get outside of my comfort zone and try different styles.<br />
<br />
Happy WOYWW everyone!<br />
<br />
Enjoy!<br />

<br />
After winning all those lovely paper pads after being the "Star Letter" in the Cardmaking and Papercraft Magazine, I just had to say "Thank You" with one of my cards didn't I. Being brung up wiv manners this is typical of me!<br />
<br />
I found this gorgeous piece of backing paper in a parcel sent from the lovely Gill. I'll have to find out where she got it as it's just perfect for so many cards!!! I got the felt flowers as a bargain from a cheapie shop. They are very well made and I couldn't believe it when I saw them so got a few colours all at the same time!<br />
<br />
I backed the butterflies with vellum and coloured it with my Promarkers to match the paper. I can post this as I've already sent it off to the Editor.<br />
<br />
I hope you like it too.<br />
<br />

Here's my latest <a href="http://stampingforpleasure.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">"Rudolph Cards"</a> ready for Christmas. I had the intentions of making Birthday and Thank You cards, and ended up making these Christmas ones too!<br />
<br />
The above one is a plain and simple one using the Poinsettias I made earlier and using the brilliant glue that Julia sent me to try. It's really wonderful and sticks anything to anything included me to my Poinsettias when I was holding one down onto the card! The ribbon is, as they say, donkeys years old but it suits this card and it's a shame it's the only piece I have in that colour!<br />

As you can tell I'm trying to make different styles of card at the moment. I've had these beautiful peel offs for ages and not used them. Then all of a sudden in my offcuts I found a piece of vellum over from making the flowers for the wedding card and voila - I tore the edges and just stuck them to the vellum and I quite liked the finish!! <br />
<br />
I've made a few different styles of cards with this idea so you may see some more later.<br />
<br />
Enjoy!Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3602750653611393304.post-27879446945447144202013-08-29T09:31:00.000+01:002013-08-29T09:31:00.186+01:00Mr and Mrs.....love one another......<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
As promised, here are the two Wedding cards I made for a lady who commissioned them. I wasn't sure what style to go with, so I made two different ones. best!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">
The first one here, is the one with all the very tiny vellum flowers on. They did look better on the card than on my work tray that's for sure!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: left;">

<br />
As the only information I had was there was terracotta on it and two birds I decided on making one with birds on it. I checked with my judges what they thought of the colour and they said it was OK, it looks more orange in this posting than it is IRL. I love this one too.<br />
<br />
As you can tell I couldn't make up my mind, so I left it to the lady to decide! I hope that she likes them - she's not come back saying could I make something else so I'm assuming they are OK!<br />

<br />
Here we are again, another <a href="http://stamping-ground.blogspot.co.uk/" target="_blank">WOYWW</a> Wednesday here. Some peeps are already counting the sleeps until Christmas!!! Well I suppose it is the end of August and soon Christmas will be in the shops!<br />
<br />
Talking of which, as you can see from the above photo, I am still in the Christmas mood! I made a couple of Christmas cards at the weekend and also made some "Thank You" cards too.<br />
<br />

<br />
Thanks for the glue Julia!! I don't know why but I was expecting it to be thin runny glue, so when I blobbed a great big blob on my tiny little embellishment I was totally surprised I can tell you. You are right though, it's a great glue and it stuck those Poinsettias on to the cards with ease!<br />
<br />

<br />
One important thing I forgot to tell you last week you can see in the above photo (sorry it's not very clear!). I am in print! Yay! In Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine!!! They asked me to send in some photos of my cards and I chose a few and they decided on these two - the one I made for the lovely Gill for her and hubbies Wedding Anniversary and one I made with my gorgeous Magnolia stamp. <br />
<br />
As I was the "Star Letter" I won £50 worth of crafting items!!!! Yes £50!!! I received in the post a huge parcel containing loads of pads of DCWV (I think that's how it's spelt!). Gorgeous shapes and colours, all wonderful and will be using some of them soon!!!!!<br />
<br />
Keep an eye out as I'll be posting the Wedding Cards soon along with a few of the Christmas ones too.Karenhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10473599700513109486noreply@blogger.com9
