WOYWW 196

Here we are again, WOYWW once more.  So here are my little worktrays, lots of useful items here, DST, Card Candi, cardstock.....and here's the most important part of any cardmakers worktrays and/or desks.....
Yes, our little 20 year kitty, Domi.  She's helping with the Cuttlebug to make a card for her Dad.  I know, I know, he's not her real Dad, but an adopted one!  She's normally got glitter on her somewhere, the same as me.  She's looking quite serious because she jumped up on my bed and found there was craft stuff e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e and no where for her to sit. Tut tut...!
Here's the startings of one card I was making for my Brother's birthday which is today, so Happy Birthday to you!!!  I'll show you the rest of it when he's opened it just in case!

Valentines!

Last WOYWW you saw the beginnings of this card - now I can show you it in it's complete form!!!  I used little gems for the eyes on the kitties here.  Of course I had to have a big red heart as well as the ribbon hearts too.

The ribbon only cost me 99p for the whole roll, and I've used it on so many cards, perhaps I should have a look next time I'm in the craft shop to see if they have any left!

Enjoy!

WOYWW 187 - Happy New Year to one and all...!

WOYWW - well not a lot has been going on with my trays on my bed lately!  I've had a bad back over Christmas which slowed everything down and put paid to my plans to do some crafting with the goodies I got for Christmas. I also had a result from my Diabetic Retinopathy Test I had before Christmas, I wasn't expecting the results yet, and it appears I now have Retinopathy to add to my list.  That has scared me a bit, but hey, I'll add it to the ever growing list of health problems and just 'get on with it' as I've done ever since the cancer diagnosis.
I decided to make my "Thank You" cards - of course there had to be a kitty or two there somewhere didn't there!  Some were white like my beloved Bertie.
And some were darker like our little 20 year old cutie, Domi.  She's asleep under my bed at the moment having eaten a whole tin of food for breakfast!  Her overactive thyroid costs us loads of ££££'s in cat food each week, but she's worth it! They did treat it with medication, but she had a severe reaction and we nearly lost her.  Now there is nothing else they can give her, so we're just feeding the eating machine instead! Boy did she love the Christmas Turkey!!!

Have a Happy and Healthy New Year everyone!

Gorgeous kitties....!!

Yes, I've got another kitty stamp here.  I've been waiting to get this one for ages and finally got it when I went to a craft sale a while back. It's a Penny Black cling called "Dear Friend" and it's so cute isn't it.
It was the one and only card I made in this session as I just didn't feel 100% at all.  I used some of my pre-made white flowers which I've added "Lace Stickles" to so that it has some bling about it.  Also added a wooden butterfly embellishment which was from the "Craft Fairy" along with lots of other things to help my charity cardmaking received a while back.

Sorry I don't know the name of the backing paper, it was a "Candy Win" many moons ago.  It was the only one I had left like that too which is a real shame as it's so useful for many different cards.
I'm adding this one in to the "Snippet Challenge" and hope I manage to get it all right this time.  Fingers crossed huh!

Enjoy!

More kitty cards......

I know, my plan was not to make lots of kitty cards and go outside of my comfort zone.  However when the Animal Charity needed help, then I offered to give it!  Hence lots more kitty cards.  Oh boy, am I enjoying it....tee hee....!!!! LOL!!!!

The above image is my best ever favourite I think!  It's so gorgeous and I just love colouring it, of course the kities can be any colour to suit the recipient.  Or made in various colours for the Animal Charity!
These cards also use kitties and dogs aas the main focus point and are ideal for the Animal Charity.  They are from the Pampered Pets range, which was free with a magazine a while back and I've still got a few left!
I used the gorgeous hearts embossing folder on these and it just lifts the image a bit.

Enjoy!

For the Kitty Charity Fayre

You'll be seeing quite a few of these for a while.  All made from snippets.

I've kept them fairly simple and flat so they can be posted without any additional cost.  Postage is SO expensive now we as crafters have to think of these when making cards.

Hope you like them.

Enjoy!

Kitty's again...!

Well I've 'tried' to use other stamps rather than kitties, but I couldn't resist this little collection!  They look like they're off for a good night out don't they!  Our little 19 year old sweetie would probably just enjoy the peace and quiet instead of going clubbing now!  In case you're wondering she's a cat not a human LOL!!

It's another Snippet card really I suppose, well most of my cards are Snippet Cards as waste not want not, I use all snippets on my charity cardmaking.

You'll be seeing more cat cards soon, I'm making them to help a local cat shelter who is having a Spring Fayre soon.  I took them some handmade crocheted blankets which they loved and boy, did I have to resist stuffing a few of the kitties up my coat before I left!!!!

I said I normally make them for cancer charities, but would help them out with raising funds.  It all helps as they say!!!

Enjoy!

I've had this image for a while, all coloured up and decided to use it on this with lots of other snippets along the way.  I really must find out more about the "Snippets Challenge" as I use loads of snippets all the time on my cancer charity cardmaking.

I used my MS PATP punch for the edging of the subtle pink paper, added a white love die cut on the top along with some white corner die cuts (again from Di!) and some gorgeous pawprint ribbon which I got for 49p!  Within the pack were six pieces of self adhesive ribbon (about 12" long) so they will go quite a way on the cards.

I added a gold mirror backing to the paper, as well as the sentiment.- I hope you think it works OK!

Enjoy!

Penny Black - a little kitty!

Well as you know I'm a Penny Black fan and got this set when my lovely friend Di, gave me some amazing gift vouchers!  Talk about kid in a sweet shop!

I made this card for a friend of mine who happens to run a Cat Charity, so it's ideal for her!  Strangely enough lots of my friends like cats too.  No comments please - I think I've heard them all!

It was made using snippets of card and a Nestie along with some gems, came together nice and easy in the end.

Enjoy!

Isn't she a sweetie, helping me craft......all for charity too...!

Well I just had to show you this.  This is our Domi, helping me to use my paper trimmer - she's really helpful, putting lovely faux stitching in pieces of paper, crumpling for the 'distressed' look on paper, dragging glitter all over the house and then me getting the blame....!

The list is endless!  I wouldn't swap her for the world though, she's a little old lady of 18 now and such a cutie, she gets away with murder most days!

Enjoy!

Sad Cardmaking.....

OK so this is a sympathy card, but with a difference.  It's for a good friend of mine, whose little cat died suddenly.  I know how they feel, so just had to make a card for them to show that I'm thinking of them.

As I said, a sad occasion and some of you will think it pretty daft, but a cat is part of our family and always will be.  A pet becomes a huge part of your family and is missed just as much, if not more, than some people.

RIP little kitty.

PS. I know I'm soft but hey, it's better than being a hard head with no feelings.

Surprise - a kitty...!

Not done one for a while, so thought I'd slip him in and see if you all notice LOL!!!

It's the gorgeous PB from Di again. I used the bargain Papermania paper pad (99p!) for backing and used a brown Nestie (what is it with brown and me at the moment?!?!?!). The Nestie was too small, so I cut it in half and put one each side of the image, and it fitted perfectly. Phew!
Bit like Marmalade, ont he TV the other day a chef said Figs and Marmalade is something you like with age, he said marzipan would still be a dislike until he's 70 though, and I'm the same! Can't stand the stuff!
Anyway back to the card. I've changed the colouring on this from the last one I did, you might notice the subtle changes. Added some Prima flowers with plain glitterations circles in white (not brads to save on the postage!). Postage is so expensive it's something us crafters have to think of now!
Enjoy!

There had to be....kitties....!

I got these images as part of a set downloaded from the internet, all free! I think they're Fat Cats. It was in a Cardmaking magazine, and you could download them from their site.
Hope you like!

I told you there'd be more....

Well I did say didn't I....!

Anyway, it's more Nesties, the footprints (or rather pawprints!) were also in the set so I've made some backing papers with those, some with pawprints, some with balls of wool, some fishes and some meeces! You'll be seeing those later no doubt.

Sorry if you don't like cats. I promise to put some others on the blog soon!

Enjoy!

Cute kitty....

Again, this is using the wonderful stamp set Di gave me. It came from Elzybells, which sadly is no longer in business. A real shame as I'd love to get more of these...and others like it!

The wording says it all for any cat lover "To a dog you're family, to a cat you're staff". It isn't wrong is it?!?!?!

I used my Nesties on some mirror card, I cut a few of these in different colours and thickness of card, to make it easier when cardmaking with my limited space. I've stamped some more of these kitties, so you'll be seeing a few in different cards coming up!

Enjoy!

Promarkers - my first few efforts....

Well I've been having more practise with my new Promarkers - boy have I been having fun. It's a bit difficult with the wrist splint on, but I've persevered with it. I do love a challenge!!!

So what do you think of the first few efforts then? I've tried to do some shading and blending - I've not got a blender pen - I thought it came in the set but it didn't so it's all hand blending with the different shades.

Of course I had to make some of the kitties white, dear Bertie, still miss him every day.

I've tried a few different colours, and have spent some of my Christmas money on some grey Promarkers, that's one of the colours I haven't got and it will be so useful...not least for kitties! Of course, what else, with me!!!

Thank You Cards

I saw these digi's and just HAD to have them. They are just SO cute! I tried to get them as a rubber stamp, but everywhere I tried they had sold out. So I emailed the designer (Mo Manning of course!) and she replied telling me about the digi images - so I got those instead.
They are just perfect for any cat lovers out there, you can just imagine how indignant the cat feels but he still has a smile on his face despite the loving hug from the child! There are little girls (tomboys!) and boys.
I made these using a new punch I got for Christmas, from EK Success I think it is. Despite their size they are very good and easy to punch, although I did struggle with certain card weights so now know which ones it's best on!
The purple CS was just run through the old CB and used as a backing paper. Some peel offs, and some prima flowers just finished it off.
Thanks for looking!

Thank You Cards

At the same time as seeing the lovely kitty with the boy/girl (in case you want them they are called Patience and Tolerance) I also got these lovely images of a little boy lying on his dog, there is also a girl which I purchased too, but haven't uploaded them yet - they will follow!
As you can see, I've been using the punch a fair bit - I had to pack all my craft stash away ready for Christmas, so only have the basics out currently.
Amazing what you can do with a few items huh!

Special Card - Kitty of course!

This image came amongst many other goodies from my good friend Diane for my birthday. I thought I'd make some cards out of it and have made four so far, all with different coloured flowers, and with many more to come too!

I used a backing sheet from a Creative Pad I'd got for only 99p! Yes 99p you read that right. I wasn't sure it would be when I purchased it, but the till came up with 99p so I went back and got another colour too! Shame they didn't have many.

I then used gold mirri card, and embossed it with ye olde CB machine and added some Prima flowers along with some Glitterations spots. I think these are going to be the 'in' things for now, seeing as postage is SO expensive now the cards are classed as "Large Letters".

After spending £30 on Postage before Christmas, I'm making sure my 'posting' cards have no large embellishments on them if I can help it. Probably the same as you guys huh!

Christmas Treat Bags - for Kitties!

Yep, I'm a real marshmallow when it comes to animals - as anyone who knows me knows! I decided to make some Treat Bags for the kitties for Christmas. They have a stocking full of presents so why not treats too!

Card cello bags were filled with Cat Treats and Biscuits (depending on their taste!). Then I made the tops using some plain cardstock and then used my Double Scallop Punch (thanks Di!) I'll resist calling it by the slang name!!!

I then had some foam cat shapes (donated many moons ago and this is the last of them!) and put little Santa hats on them and silver bows to make them all Christmassy!

I used Silver and Gold peel-offs to add the festive message. I was going to put on the back what the contents were, but I forgot. Sorry kitties, but I'm sure you all know what they are!
