Special Cards...

Here's the special cards I was working on in WOYWW the other week.  It's all animal related - my fave cards as you all know!  So I thoroughly enjoyed making them. I think I've used most things in my stash here....

Die cuts, peel offs, rubber stamps, card candi, glitter, stickers, sentiments, ribbon, punches, you name it and I think it's on there!

I just love these rubber stamp sets, they are so cute!  I added the special poem in using my PC.  It certainly was a labour of love that took me a while to make, but I loved it!

I also used this stamp, although it's a lot lot lot bigger than I thought it was!  I'll have to use it for my big cards mainly, although I've just had a lightbulb moment here!  I added the gold bottle charms on at the last minute.  It suited the card!  The cards have been given to the recipient now, so I can safely blog them!

Enjoy!

Another Snippets Card

Another Snippet Challenge over at Di's Place. Go and check it out and join in - it's a great way of using up all your 'snippets'!

You may have seen some of this background on another card of mine as I use ALL my snippets in one way or another, nothing gets as far as the recyle bin when I'm card making!

Once again, my lovely Magnolia stamp is used on this card, along with a 'busy' background, so I kept it fairly simple by just putting a pearlised die cut behind her, used some glitter dots (which you can't totally see on this photo - sorry!), along with some more MS PATP offcuts and a little sentiment tag.

Enjoy!

Special Magnolia Girl...

I saw this little cutie in a visit to a craft shop and she's so gorgeous I just had to have her.  I don't normally get Magnolia stamps as they are so expensive, but I did splash out on two.  Well, you just have to don't you!

I've stamped a few of them and used different colourings in them so you'll see a few coming along but I know a lot of you are Magnolia fans.  I've tried some different techniques on the colouring as well - what do you think?

Again I've used my MS PATP set and used the cheapy £ shop card for the matting and layering.  I was going to add some lace in as well, but forgot before I used my DST, so sorry about that!

This is an easel card, but I've not quite finished the inside yet.  My little yellow flower embellishment suits the colouring fine (and a bargain at 45p for the bag), sadly I only have two left now.  Again the gold brad was from my bargain pack too.  I'm one of life's "bargain bin checkers!" - you never know what you might find.

Hope you like my little cutie and I'll finish the inside soon don't worry!

Enjoy!

Snippets Challenge

Here's my entry to the Snippets Challenge 11 for fun in the playground.  As Di said, I can't use the Pogo Sticks sadly, but I can have a go on the swings.  What lovely memories of playing on the swings and even more fun on the roundabouts too!  No health and safety in those days (gosh does that make me sound old!!!) but it was loadssssssssssssssss more fun!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've used all snippets on this card, no whole sheets were harmed whatsoever in the making of this card.  Here you can see my 'Snippet Envelope' as I call it.  It's an A4 size pack which some card came in and I now use it for my snippets to reside in.  As you can see I've had a go at some MS punching (my one and only PATP set!).

The card is cheapo card from the £ shop, it is perfect for using as matting and layering and also MS punching of course!  I also use the plain white card from the £ shop as well, ideal for die cutting, too light for the actual cards, but brilliant for the embellishments.  Also thanks again, to Di, for the gorgeous ribbon!  Such a fantastic rich colour and perfectly suits the CS and the colouring.

Talking of which I used the white card to make the flowers, offcuts from the snippets envelope of course, and added some stickles glitter, and some plain brads I've had for eons!  I got two packs of them in a sale, and am now on the second pack!  Plain but they do the job!  I've also used nail varnish on them to change the colour and it works fine!  If there's a way round it, I'll find it!  My pocket is not never ending sadly and I really need to win the lottery!!!

I'm really proud of this card and I'm not ashamed to say it!  Hope you like it too....

Enjoy!

WOYWW 145

Last week I had a very tidy workspace as you all saw....well here's the other side of the bed on my latest crafting session!
As you can see it's a totally different story as I had some 'trial runs' on a few things!  Some brush techniques being used with my 2nd Tim Holtz ink pad (Thanks Di!).  I've also got some embellishments waiting to dry after being edged in Stickles for a card you'll see later in the week.
My usual selection of DST and foam tape ready to be used, more embellishments waiting to dry.  I love the hearts die cut but it's really fiddly to remove from the die cut once you've used it.  I tend to do a few at a time, and now keep them all in the little plastic box - saves them being crushed and ruined.

So come back soon to see what card I was working on at the time!

Enjoy!!!

Party Time!

Another square card - this helps use all my cardstock, but I now need to find a good, reasonable priced supplier for square envelopes.  Any suggestions, just let me know.  I've heard Craft Creations are good, so am going to check them out...any others welcome!

Here's a little Party Girl, kindly stamped for me whilst I was looking for a wedding image.  I added some snazzy backing paper (which is a Christmas paper believe it or not!), and then added some PATP paper stock to make her stand out.  The die cut's were sent by the lovely Gill, and I decided to try die cutting leaving some of the image outside of the die cut.  Not sure what that is called, but it worked which is brilliant!

I added some of my bargain self adhesive ribbon and used a rub on for the "Party Time" sentiment. Also I put some teeny tiny gems around the circle die cut.  Small embellishments help now with postage costs I've found out to my purse's pain!

Enjoy!

A Little Surprise!!!

How cute is this litte kitty waiting for his present?!?!  Of course, another I just HAD to get (good job I got quite a bit of Christmas/Birthday money to spend!).  I've had a few purchases in the sales from Craft Shops (as you do!).

This one caught my eye as it had a kitty in it, I did say I wasn't going to get more kitty stamps, but hey, they are popular and the charity cards sell well with kitties on them so it's the perfect excuse really LOL!!

I used my bargain PATP (the only one I have....so far...!!!) to add some lace effect to some snippets of white card I had in my 'snippets bag'.

Added some peel offs (thanks Gill!) along with some ribbon (again, in the sale!), and voila, another card done for the cancer charities.

Enjoy!

A little bit of crafting done....

Happy New Year to everyone - I hope you all had a good time and got some lovely crafty presents too!  Thanks to everyone who has stuck with me during this problem time with my health.  It;'s not over yet but at least I've done some crafting!
Back to some gentle crafting after a lonngggggg break.  I'm not back doing much yet due to the DVT in my leg, but I tried making these Thank You Cards and they came out OK.
I used my PATP bargain I got before Christmas.  I'm so pleased it's working better now and I can just about do it with my carpal tunnel riddled hands.  I have to take lots of breaks, which is fine as it gives me a chance to go on a wander around to keep the DVT happy!

I had loadssssss of lovely crafty goodies for Christmas so hopefully you will be seeing some of them soon when I can do a bit more when sitting.  I just have to be careful, as I'm sure you all understand.  I don't want to take too many risks with the DVT, but it won't stop me crafting totally which is the main thing.

Whilst I've been off the "Card making" I've still been crafting, and have been making crocheted blankets for the local Animal Shelter, and took many christmas paper wrapped parcels to them, along with some food all wrapped up too for the animals.  It all helps and I don't mind being called a mad cat woman!!  Well sometimes I don't!

Thank You

I think it's safe to post this one now. I made this for the lovely Gill M, who helps me make cards for cancer charities/hospices. I sent her some digi images coloured with PM's along with this card.
Martha Stewart punch along one edge of some brown card (I'm used more dark card these days, not sure why!), topped over some shiny silky yellow paper which I'd cut with the lovely trimmer that Di got me for Christmas, not only does it cut lines, but you can cut different shapes with different cutters on it, and it also scores too which is great!
I coloured the digi image with PM's (what else?!?!?!) and then used the double scallop punch to add a different edge to it.
The lovely thread was found whilst looking for a stamp I thought I had in my stash, so I thought it would just go with the card - something different.
Simples!
