Promarkers - my first efforts.....

Well here's my first few attempts at using my new Promarkers I got for Christmas. What do you think? I think practise makes perfect and I have more to do! I've been using different shading techniques and can't quite make up my mind which is best, althought I'm getting there with them.

This little boy with no feet was deliberately stamped like this. The stamp was a freebie in a magazine, they are by Mollie Bloom and they are gorgeous. Will have to check out more for my 'wish list'...! I added white lines to the balloon with a white gel pen. The nesties were a present from Di for my birthday and I cut quite a few on dull Sunday afternoon. Do any of you use the tan mat? Is it better with that?
Monkeys - well they are always in my cardmaking. This fantastic stamp was sent to me by Di, I also added some Stickles on there to 'bling it up' a bit! It doesn't show up too well in the photo but looks good IRL..!

More Mollie Bloom stamps, there was a little girl along with the boy, so I stamped up some of those too and am in the process of colouring them all in. I'm having problems with my wrist/fingers at the moment so it's taking me a lot longgggggeeerrrrr than I want!

Here's a close up of the little girl. I wasn't sure about the green socks but they look quite effective with the shading. No one matches colours with their clothes any more it seems, so I did the same with my stamps!
Anyway I'd be really interested to see what you think........

I tyhink you did an AWESOME job, Karen!! I wouldn't know where to start with promarkers, they seem a little intimidating to me, but you totally rocked them!

Your shading is absolutely GREAT Karen! OMG, I need to do some catching up! Re. the tan mat, when we went to our first craft class I thought you bought a mat from the shop? Remember we'd tried out using brass stencils and this was what they recommended. I got one at the time and it is good. Unfortunately there is only one in the packet (some places sell them in twos I think) - else one would be winging its way to you of course! Di x

Thanks for all your comments!!! It's good to know I'm on the right track, more practise is needed I think to improve it. Oh Di, I did get a mat, a black one I think, chemobrain again, thanks for reminding me!!!! I'll try it next time - have had some problems with my hands lately so trying to rest them for a bit with the wrist splint on. I can then give the old Promarkers another go at the weekend!!! Can't wait....

Take care of those hands! Bit of rest then a bit of play - but don't overdo it!

Yup, that's the mat honey, I was sure you'd also got one! It's in a cello bag with instructions from the shop inside: A Plate, B Plate, Stencil with cutting side up and the cut image still in place, card if needed (I only ever need one sheet), black rubber (it's the same as a tan mat), then clear B Plate. In fact I don't put my card shim between the image and the rubber mat - I tend to put it on top of the lot if I need it! Di x

Hi Karen
I've only just read your email- sorry!! Thanks so much for the award, I will mention you on my next blog post. So sweet of you!! I think your colouring looks fab on these, you're getting great shading! As you probably know i LOVE to colour!! Sometimes I think I prefer that to making the card!! Good luck with the Promarkers, I look forward to seeing more colouring! xxxx
